You know I thought exactly the same way when I was forced to install Steam. Then December hit. Suddenly I am spending less then half of my normal gaming budget amassing a collection roughly forty times larger then my console enthusiast days. At this point I could care less if Steam watches me tinkle. As long as it isn't posting the video online, it is a fair trade. Why? Because Steam is like Santa Clause. It might be creepy the way it watches me all year long to make sure I am not naughty, but the goodies I always get make me wiggle gleefully in anticipation of the coming visit, and I would wait in line to sit on that plump guy's lap to tell him what I want this Steam Sale.

Side note: You realize that consoles are DRM to right? That is why you have to install the disk, but still have to have it in the disk tray. The difference between PC gaming and console gaming isn't the difference between DRM and no DRM. The difference is that PC DRM kisses our toes and showers us services others have to pay pay for. It thank us for allowing it into our homes, and rewards us for it. Consoles say, and I quote, "Internet? Yeah that costs money. High res patches for games you already bought? Money please! The ability to play a game you purchased last year? Only if we can figure out a way to charge you for it! User created content, fool we ban modders!" even though their DRM is an actual, tangible inconvenience

Not surprising to see DoTA 2, TF2, and many other games made by Valve that created Steam. Great marketing on there part. I want to see how well they'll market the Steam machines next.

Those listed games may be trash (they are to me as well) but PC is the only way to game if you're not a poor peasant. Can count the quality first party exclusives on each console on one hand.

Edit: modded Skyrim, Civ 5 and Half Life 2/LFD2 (in their day) are ok to me.

What a terrible list of games. This is why I am not a PC gamer. They have terrible games. PC gaming should have stayed and died in the 90's where it belongs.
