No I haven't, but I thought of the possibility of doing that with the MGS series. It would be pretty insane though to go through all of those games in sucession.. I'm sure people have done that. Have you, SW? If so, which franchise?

Yup. Mass Effect 1 to 3. Took me about three weeks. ME1 was rough around the edges but still great. ME2 was stuffed to the brim and still my favourite of the series. ME3 was so emotionally exhausting I had to take a total break from gaming for a month.
Yeah, sometimes I'll do a series marathon before the next entry comes out, or sometimes just because.
I've done that with MGS a few times. A couple of times with Zelda. Most recently (probably over a year ago) with Splinter Cell.
Splinter Cell marathon was interesting, Chaos Theory still remained at the top, but holy shit did the rest of the list get shifted around a lot. Kinda funny how I used to think Double Agent was one of the series better games. It sucks.
Certainly, off the top of my head:
Played the Sly 1,2,3 collections and Ratchet 1,2,3 collections on PS3. (so back-to-back-to-back).
In PS1 days I played Final Fantaxy VII and went into VIII
Played Metroid Prime 1 and 2 back to back on Gamecube.
Played Super Mario All-Stars all the way through on Wii.

Oh my:P
I had the EXACT same experience with the Mass Effect series and did the exact same things as you did. I was so tired after ME3!
Yes I did that with Mass Effect (after the story fix) and Metroid Prime. Both were very interesting and positive experiences.
I had played Mass Effect 1 before, and Mass Effect 2 at some point and the story and combat did nothing for me in 2. Playing all 3 in succession actually made me enjoy the story in all 3 and I didn't mind the changes in combat much at all. The only issue I had was the loss of skills to pick.
I had played Metroid Prime 1 and 2 before, and remembered liking 1 more than 2. Playing all 3 in succession with motion controls I really noticed that the games had a logical progression in gameplay and they got better each time. Prime 2 was better than 1 and Prime 3 was best of all. It looked, controlled best, and had the best ideas. It did have a different vibe and I get that people don't like it for that. But if you play them back to back it's actually a really cool unexpected change that creates anticipation. And the ideas seeping through about controlling the ship? You could feel they were heading in an awesome direction.
Playing them back to back made me realize that this is what the developers must have done. Design decisions made more sense when playing them back to back. I recommend it.
I played Yakuza 5 to get ready for Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami comes out in August and 6 in early 2018, that's about it. Tried to play through nier to get ready for nier automata well in advance.
Ummmmmm, so not really.
Yeah, mostly RPGs that i didn't play before
Suikoden series (1 to 5), Wild arms series, Breath of Fire (1 to 5), Valkyrie Profile series, Shadow heart series
I did that with God of War 1 to 3. That was a bad idea. Those games are far too copy and paste to play all at once. Having a 2 year break between each installment would have probably upped my opinion of the second and third games.
Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin, Bloodborne, and now Dark Souls 3.
And before the release of metal gear solid 4 guns of the patriots I RE-played the whole series, including the MSX originals.

I've done this too, and might do it again in future.

I actually did that a few years ago. I started with Metal Gear Solid on Playstation, then Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and finally concluded my journey with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. The first one is my favorite.
Started out Uncharted 2 then Uncharted 3. I finished 3 first followed by 2. I followed them up with 1.
