Has the collective mind of SW made a ruling on whether or not NMH is exclusive or not? I've noticed it being excluded from a lot of lists while NMH2 is being included.

Personally, I think NMH should keep its exclusive status since the HD versions of the game are different editions and have no plan for release outside of Japan, therefore making their existance fairly useless to most SW users.

I would be one to think it's still exclusive in the states since it's not on the HD twins here.

Considering that the 360 and PS3 ports dont exist outside of Japan, of course the game is an exclusive.

Lol. The same game thats on the Wii is on the the 360/PS3.

Its simply not exclusive.

Honestly it would seem anyone who says otherwise is a sheep.

Exclusive rules are funny here. If a game is on PC and Console, then it's not exclusive. Then you'll have another game that's on two consoles and a handheld, but it's counted as an exclusive. NMH has a 50/50 chance of going either way, but I lean towards the decision that makes less sense give SW's history with ruling on these things.

I wouldn't say it's exclusive. Just because it wouldn't matter to most people doesn't mean it does matter in general.

This is the same forum that considers the PC freeware version of de Blob the same as the retail Wii game, and argued about Punch-Out!!'s status as an exclusive, so the "ruling" will probably be No More Heroes is now multiplat.

Personally, if there really needs to be a debate on it, things like region need to be taken into account. I dont care so much, the game is on the system, and I enjoy it.

I think considering so few people can or do import games, it should be region specific. I still consider it an exclusive for the most part, same as Tales of Vesperia on 360, sure its on PS3 in Japan, but that doesn't mean I can actually properly play it in NA.

It may not be the exact same game, but it's still an enhanced version/remake,and remakes aren't considered to be exclusive titles in System Wars (if I recall correctly).

I love NMH and I agree with Suda that it shouldn't have been ported, but I still don't think you can call it exclusive anymore.

Hmm, what about remakes as extensive as Resident Evil, or Twin Snakes? Surely they count, because they depart so drastically from their predecessors. No More Heroes isnt as clear cut as that, I guess.

I love how sheep are saying that it's still an exclusive just because it's not in the states. In other words saying that since it's not availible, it's existence is nullified.

Well, if it isnt available, then its existence is easy to ignore, not just for Wii fans, but for everyone else as well. Im easy either way, I dont care about the lists :)

No,exclusive = only on one platform Although,if they are handelds, then i guess if the differece is pretty huge (Transformers DS,LBPPSP) then you might count for exclusivity

Gamespot Japan has it's own site, on this site it's exclusive to the Wii. Unless it's released in PAL/NTSC regions.

(even though it's technically multiplat :P)

I don't know, I have a hard time calling it not exclusive, considering the only place where it isn't is Japan, and even then, the Japanese 360/PS3 ports are pretty different. Huge graphical enhancements, no motion control (well, maybe there is for the PS3, I don't know), very sweet mode added.

Unless you live in Japan, I would say it's exclusive.

Is the game dramatically different for the HD twins compared to the Wii? No? Then it's not exclusive.

This doesn't make any sense, why would it be exclusive if it's on several different platforms, by this logic, no country except Norway exists because i'm currently not in any other county. :|

I was just justifying the mind set really. Like I said, Im not bothered either way. However, the analogy you used is a bit of a flawed one. These reviews, and lists, are ultimately designed to inform purchasing decisions. If the game is not available, then it isnt relevant. Its why you dont see Captain Rainbow, or whatever, on these lists until they get released and reviewed in the West by gamespot.

What, just the controls? I don't think that count, there are a lot of Wii games with different "gameplay" which are not considered exclusive.

They are relevant, or else nobody would be talking at the moment. This doesn't matter to me either, but the logic behind this is flawed, period. It exists, therefore it is not exclusive, or else there is alot of games that don't exists, simply because they haven't been reviewed by gamespot.

It does not matter whether a version of a game is only available in one country or not, the game is not exclusive. I see exclusives on a worldwide scale, not in a national scale.

Flawed logic or no, there are many games that exist in Japan that are exclusive to various consoles that recieve no recognition here because of the fact they are only in that region. These lists are updated with Gamespot scores, and Gamespot scores only. I dont necessarily agree with that, but if the majority of posters follow that rule of thinking, and ignore most of Japan's region specific exclusive games, then I dont see why the same shouldnt hold true for No More Heroes. Otherwise, its just double standards in order to claim "ownage" over a rival system.

Yeah, but just control wise. An FPS on a PC and an FPS on a console are very different gameplay wise, but if they have the same name and the same assets, it's the same game, just playing differently.

I see what you mean. Multi-plat it is. If we began to consider NMH an exclusive (because of the controls) we would also have to look at the PC version of Dragon Age as an exclusive.
