Maybe that's the entire base budget for the all upcoming Halo ip next gen including Infinite.

That’s a whole lot of cheddar. Anyway the game looks great to me and I can’t wait to play. That’s all that matters to me.

I'll probably get it for the same reason I got Red Dead 2... hype and wanting to try it myself. I didn't care much for that game all said and done (don't care what others say about it.. I found it boring as hell, much like most Rockstar games {not all})

$500 mil (an easy breezy half billion) is a good chunk of change, not sure if those sources are all that legit, but if they are... wow.

I'm actually for an open world Halo experience since Destiny has really never done it for me. Halo has a TON of potential competing with a game like that and making and doing it better. Give people a character creator and make it an online playground (like GTA online but good) and I'd be down. A Halo MMO would be awesome.

Throw in a traditional mp mode as well and the game would print money. That $500 wouldn't seem like all that much if they do these things... however, I seriously doubt it. It seems (for whatever reason) that game companies are somehow completely disconnected from their audiences.

While I'm not loving the new art style the gameplay and open world nature of the game looks decent and the game might be bigger than most games. I'd like to see how big this game is before rushing to judgment on this one.

From the statements made by press regarding the evolution and expansions that Halo infinite will experience, this reeks of "Game as Service" game that will live on Gamepass for years

The game is gonna be an open world. I doubt it has 500 mil in funding, but if anywhere near that, it's because the game itself is probably gonna be the biggest (literally) Halo game to date. I mean, it's been in development since 2016 at least. It releases this year, so that's a 5 year gap between it and the last main entry, Halo 5. That's a lot of development time.

Very true. While I agree the textures look a bit plastic-like at some points, it still looked great, and ran incredibly smoothly at 60 fps. And the gameplay looked badass. And that story. That's what we all mainly buy Halo for.

Why would anyone give 343i $500mil? Its like giving this amount to Bioware and expect them to create a video game that works.

They said it will be a platform/service or whatever, probably covers several years.

I certainly do not hate anything Xbox. I have played a majority of their heavy hitters, and they have largely been mediocre.

there is a reason why Xbox hasn’t had any system sellers this gen, and it’s partially to do with the mediocre products people accept. Halo 5 was terribly mediocre and this looks more of the same.

im just being honest here, look at the god of war refresh and how successful it turned out. People should expect the equal to or better from MS. As of now, they are just a mediocre game company with one or two gems (forza).

Yep, the huge budget probably includes a lot of content they will drip feed us for cash over the next 5 years.

$500 million and it looks like an f2p game from 2017.
