Kinda miss Dead Space series. Armed with a foam finger and going pew pew bang bang on Dead Space 2 and 3 was a awesome experience back in those days.

Well?

I enjoyed the first game the most because it was a great addition to the horror theme. The sequels ran dry for me.

Hell yes. Dead Space 1 is like one of my favorite games.

Dead Space 2 wasn't as good as it focused more on action, but still worth to play.

Dead Space 3 was pure crap.

Incredible fan, yeah

I played about 1.5 hours of Dead Space 3 and I have no idea what that game is about. This is a weak Uncharted clone, what happened to the horror elements? And all the other elements that made Dead Space unique?

Played the first one when it came out and loved it. Didn't played the second until last month. Great game too.

I'll play 3 soon.

Yes. I like all of them.

1 was the scariest for me. 2 was more fun to play. 3 was okay. I remember assault + air shot shotgun was op for the campaign.

Yea, 1/2 are alright action/horror games.

Too easy though. Overloaded with resources and once, leveling OP and once you got the enemies down, kind of a cake-walk.

Very repetitive as well, really lacks the diverse gameplay/environments of Resident Evil 4.

Tonally, the story has all these people "BLABLABLA VERY SEROUS LISTEN TO STRINGS PLAYING SO TENSE", and it's like, shut up, nobody gives a shit.

Resident Evil has camp, when Wesker grabs a missile and talks about complete global saturation, that's fun. I'll watch that happily.

1 was really good and it was a scarier version of resident evil 4.

2 was alright. Fun, but it lacked the horror elements.

3... Was there a dead space 3?

It was a great franchise! Loved 1 and 2. One of the best TPS IPs ever imo. The direction in 3 was no bueno 🤦🏻‍♂️.

Since AAA producers like EA don’t want to touch linear SP games I wish they would just sell the IP cheaply to some hungry indie developer, instead of letting it rot in their basement. Same goes for Prince of Persia.

Yeah I really enjoyed the games. 1 and 2 were great, 3 not as much but I still liked it overall. Wouldn’t mind at least seeing a remastered compilation of the games.

I really loved the first two games in the series. I think the first game has aged the best as one of the great RE4 clones. I never bothered with any others after Dead Space 2.

@Litchie: My thoughts exactly.

Playing Dead Space 1 with the volume cranked up on the hifi was one of the scariest, captivating and most memorable experiences last gen.

Dead Space 2 hardcore mode was one of my great achievements in gaming. It led to a love of the rouge-like genre. Big fan of all 3 Dead Space, and Extraction is probably my favorite on-rails shooter out there.

Would love to see more of this series in the future.

Dead Space was amazing.

Dead Space 2 was alright, but nowhere near the same.

DS3 sucked.

Yes, the first two games are great. EA ruined the third one it was suppose to be more psychological horror but EA just wanted a full action co-op crap with microtransactions.

my friend, being a hardcore old school gamer.

I (ie me) prefer something like this System shock 2. Dead space was suppose to be System shock 3 but they made it third person new ip because of RE4 success as a result it become dumbed down system shock 2. but so is Bioshock.

Prey is better deadspace and bioshock game than deadspace and bioshock itself.

I really like 2. I completed it before going through the 1st. I get that some people are turned off by the fact the guy can talk now, there's less isolation and it being more actiony but I don't think it was less scary then DS1.

3 was pretty lousy.

I'd like to see Respawn get a crack at bringing it back - they've shown they can handle multiple genres or EA could just hand it to somebody outside the company.

Better level design instead of walking in straight line like bioshock and infinite did. Prey is made for old school PC gamers. average console gamers wouldnot like it.

i really enjoyed the first game. i think it was supposed to originally have been system shock 3 until resident evil 4 released and inspired them to rebuild it as a third person new ip. i think visceral did really well with it. had some genuinely tense and atmospheric moments. when isaac starts wheezing as he runs out of oxygen it genuinely made me feel breathless. had to pull out the old asthma spray once or twice lol. dismemberment by plasma cutter was well done and one of the highlights. the shooting asteroid minigame probably the lowlight. the visuals hold up really well, game still looks great.

played a bit of the sequel, thought it was ok. bought but didn't play the third. would definitely be interested in a reboot

I really like the first one. I completed it many times. I have never finished Dead Space 2. I always played the first one right before playing the second one and I might have been Dead Spaced out. Next time I'm in the mood to play it, I'll just start with Dead Space 2.

In conclusion: Alien and Aliens are both amazing in their own ways, but one is more about the horror and the other is more about the action.

And that is where the decline of DS (and Resident Evil for that matter. Before Capcom got their shit together that is) began. There is nothing more annoying than a dev/publisher completely changing the series to please as many consumers as possible. This rarely to ever even working. In most cases, it kills the franchise.

@hardwenzen: I am torn on that sentiment because Aliens is awesome, Resident Evil 4 is awesome and Dead Space 2 is awesome.

The problem lies within the legacy of these games/movies because their followups are the ones that really got carried away and ruined their respective series.

I've always been one to say the first two Alien movies are the ones that matter as well as the first two Dead Space games. Unfortunately their legacies are what fucked up the franchises; however the prior titles that led to these changes aren't inherently poor or lackluster.
