Ground Zero's can be completed in 18 minutes

I won't spoil them, as figuring these for yourself is much of the fun - but let's just say that Konami capped its preview event by showing a skilled member of the dev team race through the main mission in under 18 minutes without raising a single alert.

Gone Home may have lasted a scant three hours, but its conclusion left the player feeling like they'd experienced a full story. Ground Zeroes, on the other hand, doesn't only end in a cliffhanger much like MGS2's Tanker opening - it doesn't even attempt to spin a full yarn.

As an old school hardcore pc gamer, this doesn't seem very appealing. I can pick up thief 1/2 for about quarter of the price and know they aren't 18 minutes long or riddled with confusing long cutscenes.

How feels you? Still dropping £40 for this demo?

You can complete Skyrim in 2 hours if you speed run, yet I played the game for 120 hours and a friend of mine has 850 (!) hours clocked in Skyrim, according to Steam.

Yeah, and Skyrim can be completed in 20 minutes, but that doesn't make it any less great of a game.

I want to be excited for Ground Zeroes / MGSV but I just can't seem to care. I adored MGS1, 3 and 4 but something just keeps me from being psyched.

As for the length, that's pretty short. I know I could never beat the game in that amount of time as I'd be setting off alerts left and right. :P

Almost all super fast speed runs are done with glitches, Its obvious that this ""preview"" is instead played legit and still beaten in 18 minutes but its not surprising since speed gamers did a charity run of MGS4 2 years ago and beat it in under 2 hours they did no glitches they just showed that even on the higher difficulties it was far easier and possible to run around guys that were trying to kill you than to go the stealth route.

Going by the Gamespot article (for once) I have to agree on what they're saying that the $30 price tag for a demo is false, it's a $30 game.

I can beat RE2 in under an hour without using cheats or the unlimited ammo machine gun/rocket launcher, I still got my moneys worth out of that game.
