Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy will be fully priced

Good news for the many, many Grand Theft Auto fans of the forum.

Rockstar has been deleting prev versions and attacking modders who supported them for years so they can triple the price.

I'm not buying until I see gameplay so see what updates have been made.

I have all 3 in my library but they are a pain to play on modern hardware so it's something that interests me.

Has to be worth $60 though, not paying for a simple port with better gamepad support

Like @navyguy21, I'm going to hold off until I see/read more about the gameplay changes. The gunplay in these three was just short of abyssmal, so I really hope they've gone back to rework it.

I wish it was Vice City that went to Game Pass, but whatever. I’ll get the collection on Switch and then play SA on Xbox.

Or maybe I should play GTA V. I bought that damn game 3 times and never made it past the first heist. The shooting controls are such a turnoff…

As Sony fanboys like to remind us, when some old Sony game gets a PC release at full price: "It's new on the platform, so it should be full price", lol (yeah, yeah, they'll scalp PC gamers as well, but at least we still can play the originals).

@rmpumper: unless u talking about emulation, you can play the originals too on whatever platform if you paid for it previously.

My worry about the remasters is the gameplay if it's the same it's a pass.

@jasonofa36: Yea, that actually looks like some ENB mod shit. Realistic road textures and water against cartoony flat characters. Doesn't meld. Wasn't designed for that.

The lighting doesn't look like it fits either. Last picture just looks straight up bad, and they are cherry picking shit to look its absolute best.

Lol. The awkward hodgepodge of old and new graphics, irredeemably dated gameplay, and high price are a solid nail in the coffin for these games for me. They struggled to give me joy past about 10-15 hours of horsing around when they were new...

Hmm, not sure if I’ll get this myself. I did very much enjoy Vice City but not sure if I really want to revisit it or not. Tried San Andreas when it first came out on PS2 but just could not get into it then.

I'd Just wait for the inevitable 70% off sale on Steam before buying.

I still own the original trilogy so this does nothing for me. I'm shocked and amazed Rockstar hasn't done anything for GTA4 at all. No remake/remastered at all. What's the deal with GTA4 not getting anything? That game used to get lots of love.

No but you can play the PS2onPS4 version on PS5. Eh no difference, rockstar still removing the original versions from every store on the planet so nobody gets to play the original unless you have a copy either physical or digital.

I could see it being full price if it also included GTA4 and it's two respective expansion packs. Steep entry for the classic old games.

This game is not targeting kids, it’s targeting the 35+ crowd that for the most part has a stable income and are not a price sensitive. That’s my hot take anyway.

It looks strange. I thought it would get a Mafia-style makeover, considering how much money these games make. It has some gameplay tweaks at least, but I don't see myself getting this at full price

Same here I was expecting the worst after that GTAV enchanced trailer which had literally no graphics improvements that I could see at least $60 bucks is pricey for 3 old games. I really need to see the gameplay and how much has improved I wonder if you can swim now in GTA 3 and Vice.

Just think, Black Mesa is about 1/5 the price of this, and that is a glorified fan project.

If they're giving 3 games in a collection than I am okay with that. I probably won't get it right away though as I worry that even though I liked these in their time that I probably won't like them as much these days. I played them, but I didn't play a lot that I imagine I'll have any kind of nostalgagasm over it.

I'll wait for reviews before deciding saying that San Andreas is on gamepass so I can try it.

I really want to hear of the gameplay changes but I actually like the visual changes. Not a full remake but looks good.

absolutely. a fan made project with quater of budget destroy this so called AAAAA definitive edition.

and when I say mainstream games are bad and non mainstream games are better. people jump at me.

EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Rockstar, CDPR are all different side of same coins.
