  • On 19 April 2010, Atari announced Phil Harrison had resigned from the company's Board of Directors.
  • On 17 May 2010, it was announced that Phil Harrison has joined the advisory board at David Perry's cloud gaming service known as Gaikai.
  • On 13 March 2012, it was announced that Phil Harrison had joined the Interactive Entertainment Team at Microsoft.
  • On 17 April 2015, it was announced that Phil Harrison had left Microsoft Game Studios.
  • On 22 January 2018, it was announced that Phil Harrison had joined Google as a vice president and general manager.
  • On 19 March 2019, Sundar Pichai announced by that Google had created a new gaming platform Google Stadia with Harrison as product manager.

Okay, maybe he left for personal reasons (family or time off), and maybe he fulfilled his role at MS Game Studios and had nothing more to do.

But he is still responsible for big Xbox One decisions during some very ugly launch years. I'm staying neutral with my opinion on Stadia for now (I'm more concerned with the reliability of Stadia streaming). But just remember, if Stadia starts stinking, I warned you. His name is Phil. That's the man.

Phil Harrison sure knows how to get around these days. Phil see's Stadia as a Netflix style for gaming wise and while Netflix is successful is because it's easier to stream movies but games is another story. Also, if Google shuts it down (which they have a amazing record of doing and looking at you Google+) if it doesn't do well, you lose everything! So yeah, this is all on Phil for sure.

He also worked for Sony during the PS3 Enemy Crab dark days. He was trying to get sony to bundle PS3s with PS Eye and he was instrumental with the rubber duck demos of the six axis controllers. It seems anything he touches ends up flopping in some way. His working at Google doesn’t bode well for Stadia in my opinion.

Think Xcloud is the only service that has a chance of surviving, Google no chance.

He was at Sony for about the same amount of time he was at MS (stayed a little longer at MS)

Also quit Sony in the same fashion

Im sure when Stadia fails he will quit Google as well

i like how the OP conviniently left out he was with sony FIRST.

either that or this fail of a thread was thought up in the same amount of time his parents did when they conceived him.

Probably Apple.

They seem hell bent on destroying the amazing success they had under Steve Jobs, especially with their recent announcements.

@KBFloYd: Well. Once Stadia fails, he could end up at Nintendo.

Heh, if you ask me if Phil Harrison can do a better job then Doug Bowser (aka the new Nintendo President of America) Doug is know to work with EA in the past but his resume isn't bad either compare to Phil. Nintendo would never hire a guy who bounces all over the place and Sega is out of the question. Not to mention, Phil loves to get in on the major media stuff involves and neither Nintendo or Sega has.
