Oh, I loved this game as a kid. I'm downloading this as soon as possible.

Tell me about it, got Fallout1 the day it came out :)
Got home and just had a blast playgin for 5-6 hours straight :P
Yeah, and what sucks is my brother destroyed our copy 11 years ago. I haven't played the game since. This'll be a good time killer when I'm not studying for Finals.
Shouldn't we call it "Freeout" then?
Anyway I never got a chance to play the two original Fallouts - one of the few games of the time that just missed me somehow, so Im definitely going to fill this gap asap.
Btw. the signle best RPG of that period is Bluebyte's Albion though, I dont believe Freeout will beat it!

Don't say that until you've played Fallout. It's the only PC game to blow my mind besides DOOM.
Oh they even have DK and Sacrifice. I used to love that game.
Awww I miss the original war game hybrids of that time...
If you like Fallout you may want to consider getting Wasteland 2 as well. (Which now also supports Paypal for people like me who never use CC for monetary or security reasons. Well basically everyone outside the USA -__- )
Are the first 2 fallout games similar to baldurs gate?Chrome-
They're both published by Interplay, so they're similar in that sense.
But Baldur's Gate was developed by BioWare, while Fallout was developed by Black Isle Studios.
-
However, the games are quite different from each other.
Fallout is a turn-based, tactical RPG, while Baldur's Gate is a real-time (but it pauses) action RPG.
Both are very deep on text and roleplaying, but they have very different mechanics.
-
Fallout was Brian Fargo's pet project at Interplay, and now he's developing the spiritual successor to Fallout 1 and 2, so if you like the game, support Wasteland 2 on Kickstarter!
Just so you guys know you can buy the fallout trilogy (1/2 and tactics) for like 5 or 10 bucks.. I bought mine at gamestop a year ago for that price.
But yeah its a great game
For anyone who does get this game, make sure you get the patch here:
http://nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=category&cat_id=12
This is the European version of Fallout 1 that they're offering, and the European version was censored.
The first link is to the uncensoring patch.
However, there are some more patches there, which increase the resolution of the game and fix bugs not addressed in the official release:
Thanks for the heads up I just signed up and I got it.
I also got 7 other games in my collection when I signed up they showed up in my collection.

Actually, Black Isle didn't exist when the first Fallout was made. It's 100% Interplay.

Black Isle still made it...they just weren't called "Black Isle Studios" back then.

Ah, yes. They were just a separate development team back then. OK, thanks for the tip.
[QUOTE="glez13"]This. I just downloaded and I'm having a hard time getting into it. I don't think the game aged very well. its definitely an acquired taste in my opinion.Tried to play it and 2 last year, couldn't stand it completely outdated.
