Good games that have horrendously bad characters

Imma gona have to saya Farcry 3. Jason Brody and his gang of white caucasian rich jersey shore friends. This is probably what ubisoft throught would appeal to Americans. Being not American, even I'm fucking insulted by it. Blood Dragon has a better tone without this bvullshit.

Now my friends, your opinion, which I care deeply about.

The intro of Far Cry 3 pretty much comes of like they want you to hate Jason Brody's friends.

Valkyria Chronicles: Great game, lame characters. I don't know about horrendously bad(because they are only anime status cheesy), but they were pretty lame.

Legend of Zelda games. Link has always been a copypasta protagonist, but the games are iconic. Halo as well. MC has the personality of lump mashed potatoes, but the games are (usually) good.

Dead Island.

Really enjoyed it, but the characters were just plain bad.

God of War. Loved the series. HATED Kratos

Kratos. The God Of War games are awesome but I do hate Kratos.

Metal Gear Solid 2. Campy became fucking stupid in the end.

It's really funny with Kratos. When the first game came out people hailed him as a great anti-hero.

Master Chief out of halo...goddamn he is just boring in my eyes i love halo's multiplayer but i always feel like the story is an utter chore with the exception of co-op on2 and 3.

Kratos in the God of War games. He was great in the first game, where his arc represented a modern take on the classical Greek tragedy, but then they ran him into the ground, and made him a caricaturized version of his former self.

Kratos is very much how gamers see themselves I think. Hardcore badasses. However, as we know, this is very far from the truth.

FFX- Yuna made some mind numbing decisions that didn't turn out well. She's still hot, though. <blush> Oh, and do I have to mention the laugh scene?

Link, Gordon Freeman and Master Chief gets a free pass. They are a blank state that act as an avatar for the player.

RAGE had some awful characters, mostly due to the caricatured nature of the game meant to show off their tech rather than advance the story.

Most of the games I like have silent protagonists. There's something to be said for imagination. I'm sure I'll think of some games later.

The supporting characters Trevor and Tierno in Pokemon X and Y. I HATED them! Especially the end sequence, it's like wtf did they even help with? Nothing, that's the answer.

sure.. i live in New York State. It rains money every day over here.. people don't have to work. Hell we sit at home and slaves make money for us. We're all rich and that point of view with that vacation clearly represents what your average living in the U.S gamer life is. Totally appealing, it's not like they chose rich ignorant people that could have came from anywhere for the sake of the plot of pirates kidnapping rich people or anything. Nope.. not at all.

You probably should have stopped liking the series after Combat Evolved then, because the novels expounded a pretty complicated character that they only expanded on in Halo 4.

Pretty much any game that has the "intentionally void or undeveloped main character to allow the player to more easily assume his/her identity" design philosophy.
