Because basically, Bioshock Infinite is downright the worst well received game in video game history. The gameplay is a mess, the story is a mess, and its take on racism and white nationalism is worthless at best and downright offensive at worst. And its reception proved how dumb gaming media and gaming culture actually was, and still is, as there are positive 10 year retrospectives on it.
Bioshock Infinite is basically kind of like a person who thinks he or she is smart and knowledgeable, but in reality is wrong about almost everything he or she says. But he or she just doesn't shut up. And yet, people think he or she is smart. That's the game and the media in a nutshell.
Its not about how it has two of the worst first person shooter enemies of all time, or how the gameplay interaction is shallow, or how idiotic the plot holes in its time traveler multi verse plot is, its about how Ken Levine knows nothing on race, religion, American history, and politics and it shows. The moral equating of the Founders and the Vox Populi is a fatal mistake you just cannot do. Nevermind, it seems that the religious and race themes have been dumbed down from prior ideas and it comes off as shallow and stupid. Or that these issues really didn't overall matter because multiverse and stuff. This game should of had a different creator, hell, even Jordan Thomas from Bioshock 2 at the helm, instead of Ken Levine, who now can't get his next game out the door, which showed in Infinite as things were radically changed from its inception.
Nevermind Burial At Sea is a train wreck that makes the Daisy twist even worse with a sloppy retcon or how dumb that story was. Or how how it ruins the first two games if it is made canon.
Gamespot has been really really stupid, like the Hogwarts review, but Gamespot has been smart today calling out Infinite in three separate articles.
