God of War Will Flop

The first game was honestly the most overrated diabolical piece of crap ever released. You fight the most uninteresting gods on the planet, the story goes NOWHERE, the dragon fights were about as entertaining as fighting a boss in Final Fantasy XV. According to IGN this is the greatest game ever made?

How phony, fake and stupid can people be? I could also say the side-quests are comparable to FFXV, but when that game did fetch quests, it was a sin and when God of War did it the side quests were unique and satisfying. Please explain to me how God of War's side quests were anything more than the stupid crap all the other games do.

Let's just say the story will suffer. That's one thing that's guaranteed right from the start. Green Alanah Pearce as a WRITER? LOL the only thing she can write is a sob story or an expose on an ex-bf, or how she got looked at for working at IGN. Yet she has the balls to say, "I get something the older people in the industry don't get." What's that exactly? You haven't done a dammed thing for the industry.

Whoever thought we'd get a Sony full of SJWs privy to NFTs and censorship? The first God of War trilogy was very good, but this crap? Feed it to the dogs.

It will get a 9/10 here and a 91 on meta. If Elden Ring didn't come out in 2022, it would've been this year's GOTY. Will flop btw🥱

Nah. Old metagame requires a hype thread, if a game fails to meet said hype on GS, then it's a flop. Maybe that happened with Horizon 2? Idk, don't keep up with that shit.

GoW sequel flopping critically or commercially seems next to impossible.

Sony takes its time with important franchises, and their management isn't a complete shitfest like on the green side. This game failing is like asking Gaben not being a chad.

I agree that God of War 2018 is overrated. It is not as good as the old school God of War games, but it is still a good game. The same can be said about other recent 10/10 games... Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Uncharted 4 are overrated and had better previous entries. Anyway, there is zero chance of GoW: Ragnarok flopping.

If you keep praying 200x a day that this will flop, God might answer your prayer. We're getting closer to the release date so everyone is getting nervous that this sequel might be another masterpiece

Highly unlikely. I actually just finished God of War aka Dad of Boy last night and found it to be an excellent game. GoW 2 and 3 were excellent as well. Was kind of burnt out on the franchise after 3 and didn’t enjoy Ascension all that much. I’m actually reinvigorated with the franchise again and am now kind of hyped for Ragnarok.

Yes and the game suits the PS crowd very well. A pretentious movie game and overrated game play. So no, the game will sell VERY VERY well.

God of War was a cool game and this will probably be also. Hopefully even better since there's much to improve and now they know for sure this will be a hit.

@vgmkyle: Comparing Horizon 2 to GoW "2" ? GOW:R competes with Elden Ring. Horizon 2 barely competes with Ass Creed / Far Cry games.

and I am pretty sure HFW still got mid 80s scores on MC.

GOW:R will probably get 95 @ MC. (I accurately predicted Elden Ring's 96@ MC)

Uncharted 4 is one of the worse games I played the last 10 years. What a snoozefest.

I agree GoW is super overrated apart from the visuals, but this won't flop. Too many cows will buy the game.

First game was trash. like among the worst game I have played.

this one wont be flop as mainstream critics will loose their mind once again and giving it 10/10 and will win award at GOTY.

but game in general will be terrible.

I will be buying on day one, finish it in two sittings, have enjoyed it and uninstall it and go back to gaming on my XSX and PS5. Just like I did with God of War 2018.

I doubt it will flop in sales. And I can't see it scoring less than an 8. Which in my book is a good game. Also, keep in mind, plenty of people expecting that reboot to "flop," too -- due to the change in camera and escort dynamic.

Well duh, bad graphics, bad game play. Of course it would flop if it were an Xbox game but alas, it's a Phony game so the reviewer starts at a +5 points before playing a second of the game.

I don't think it'll flop but I do think we'll see something like the reaction threads that followed TLOU 2 only selling 10 million within the last two years.

Sony isn't aggressively pricing/slashing their games this generation so the full priced for a few months then cut down real cheap real fast tactics of the ps4 generation won't be there to spur sales.

I predict 8+ million sold by next Christmas, 15 million Ltd in a few years. Unless they bundle, which is something they're still willing to do it seems.

Will probably be a good game though, but I see the metacritic stabilizing in the high 80s range.
