Gaming Laptops > Nintendo Switch?!

Since we are all bashing Nintendo for the OLED Switch I decided to join in.

Gaming laptops are a better deal than the Nintendo Switch. The dockable switch cost $300/$350 while budget gaming laptops often go on sale for as low as $600. For example the Acer Nitro 5 with the GTX 1650 Ti and Ryzen 5 CPU has gone on sale for $670 and $600 at times. For about double the price of a Switch you can get a portable gaming machine that is easily more than 20 times faster!

Here are the advantages that gaming laptops have.

1. Bigger screens most gaming laptop screens are at least 15.6" and that is more than double the size of the Switch's screen even on the OLED model!

2. Better performance you get way better performance and graphics. An OLED screen is nice and all but what good is it when your graphics look like this!

When you could be on a gaming laptop giving you graphics like this!

3. You can do anything with a gaming laptop it's not just for gaming!! You can play movies, web browse, do work, video/photo edit, graphic designing, listen to music, make music, watch hentai and make money on the side mining cryptocurrencies!!

4. You can use any controller you want even those crappy drifting joycons!

5. You get actual free online. You get actual free to keep games.

6.You get the most massive and best library of games ever and you can play old Nintendo games without having to pay for overpriced ports! Games are way cheaper and you have access to the glorious Xbox Game Pass!!

The only advantage the Switch has over gaming laptops is that you can game with them in your hands while a laptop has to be on your lap or some other sturdy surface. You can't even claim gaming off the battery as an advantage for the Switch. Nowadays you can game off the battery on gaming laptops and get decent performance and battery life that last for at least an hour gaming. The Switch at best last 2.5 hours a gaming session. I can game on my Alienware M15 R3 battery and still get 60 fps at 1080p in most games I am already getting well above 60fps in like Warframe maxed out. I was able to play Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition with everything on ultra at 1080p and get fps in the 40s when I played on the battery. Even then there are power outlets almost everywhere nowadays even on buses, planes, and trains so you can just plug in your laptop to get the full performance during the duration of your trip.

Keep starting these threads, Nintendo will keep breaking sales records. Really just a lesson in futility.

Not about what has better hardware, you need Nintendo devices to play Nintendo games, that's it really.

I am not sure who you are trying to convince. PC gamers would continue to game on PC and Switch gamers would continue to game on Switch. 🤷‍♀️

You can play more Nintendo games on a PC or phone than you can on a Switch.

Why are you comparing a 2D side scroller to an fps in graphics as well? Comparison is as bad the thread.

The Switch OLED is such a bad deal. Same battery that dies five times faster than the one inside a Dualshock 4, same controller drift packed in as a feature, no games on the horizon, burn ins cuz oled, zero hardware upgrades and a price increase by $50? How ridiculous is that? This might very well be the worst deal on our planet. It amazes me how far Nintendo is willing to go because they know their fans being very easy to milk (look at fauxcasey as a good example).

Even a phone is better than a Switch oled, let alone a gaming laptop.

Yeah, when factions that literally hate each other are teaming up to try to tear down Nintendo, you know Nintendo is doing something good... Like I said before, when the Nintendo was simply outselling Xbox, it was the best Nintendo system in a long time with great exclusives. When it was on pace to outsell the PS4, it became the worst system and anyone who enjoyed was a sheep that guys anything Nintendo. You can't make this up.

There is non stop bashing of the ps5 and the X/S, but when something negative is said about a system that has been mostly ignored on SW, its the end of days, everything needs to be cancelled cuz negativity toward Nintendo is toxic. Bunch of snowflakes lmao.

A decent gaming laptop could replace any console. But what do I know? I still play gen 6 console games regularly at 480p/i and somehow manage to enjoy my life.

Well, laptops are also more powerful than PS5 and XSX so there's that.

For god's sake, another "the Switch hardware is insufficient" thread. People who buy a Switch probably don't give a flying **** about hardware specs. They want to play Mario, Zelda, and Smash. Since neither of those are on a laptop, a PS5, or an Xbox, then I fail to see how either of those systems are better than the Switch to those who choose to buy one.

I mean, they're different, for different situations, I don't get the comparison. :-S

Whether the value of a laptop is better than a Switch depends on you. I don't want or need a laptop. It would be a waste of 600 bucks. I both want and need a Switch, 300 bucks well spent.

As someone who owns a gaming laptop, several PC's, and two MacBooks, I'd game on a Switch long before a laptop. If those were my options, I had no other choice, I'd pick a Switch every time.

But they don't have Nintendo exclusives games though, this should be obvious why some of us buy the damn Switch in the first place. Case closed.

PC and Switch is the best combination

After I put together my PC, they are the only two platforms I play. Basically, Switch is there for Nintendo games and portable indies. PC is for everything else.
