i kept fast forwarding to find the actual test...what i end up with is 3 guys just talking.

I remember how lemming claimed a download on PS3 took hours,and it was that download on PS3 were GB's long vs XBL games which were MB long because of MS size restrictions so there this sense of speed that xbox live was faster in reality it wasn't.

I remember when i posted a video of my PS3 doing an update which lemming claimed took hours,on my PS3 it took like 4 minutes,and they stater to claim i edited the video..hahahaa

I fell for the clickbait. Would be nice to see an actual test. Sony has come along quite far since last gen, I wouldn't be shocked if the PS4 was faster.

Having watched it, it's not particularly scientific, but they definitely raise fair points. I've not been the best of friends with my XBO when there is a game to install or update, yet my ps4 is usually pretty snappy with it all.

It's like the Ps3 last generation.

It's usually the exact opposite in my experience, but I imagine it's because I use WiFi on both and the WiFi antenna or whatever on the PS4 isn't very good.

What do you expect? This is a industry that relies heavily off of meaningless 100 point scoring systems with no reason to how the reviewer gets to that score outside of a "feeling".

Its not that Steam, PS4 or Xbox downloads at different speeds, I expect all of them to have network cards that can take full advantage of whatever connection you have. They seem to be talking about install times on Xbone, this happened last gen with the PS3. It seemed like the PS3 was slow as hell, but it was mainly because it had to install after.

I find it strange that Microsoft have gone backwards, I would have expected them to be the leaders in background fast installs. It definitely needs addressing.

What they say is true, but it has nothing to do with download speeds. Title is misleading as it is actually PS4 is faster at installs than Xbone and not PSN>XBL.

@Gue1: This isn't news. We've known the download speed was slow since the systems launch. The multiplayer service and staying connected when playing games is much better on XB1. Phil already said they have their tech looking into increasing the download speeds for XB1. The XBox 360 download speed was superior to the PS3 last gen. You cows didn't care about it back then. I even remember fighting a moron here who was comparing downloading an XBL game which was like 90MB,and he use it vs PSN game that weight in 1.2GB or something like it on PS3,man no matter how fast is your speed that 90MB file will download far faster than a 1.2gb file.

So you have some one claiming live was faster based on his experience the problem was that what he was downloading for his PS3 was 12 times the size of what he was downloading from XBL,and MS had a system with memory cards so most of what they use to have for the first 3 or 4 years was small download i remember how oddworld was going to miss the 360 because MS refuse to increase the size of games allowed through the network,when on PS3 there wasn't that problem.

That is sad considering sony has 10 million more users and still has faster downloads,no it wasn't the xbox 360 had about the same speed,game on 360 and download for the first 3 or 4 years were very limited in size so downloading something on 360 mean smaller download thus downloaded faster giving xbox 360 users a false sense of speed over PSN to those who had both.

You got a false sense of speed because on PS3 there was no size limit it you wanted to release a 5GB game you could,on xbox 360 it was first 50MB and started to increase as the generation move on,remember since MSD had a core unit with memory card they benefit from having small games.

What I want to know is; is it actually the download speed that is the difference? I just think the Xbox One takes forever to install anything. It probably has some sort of complicated install process that makes it take forever.

Don't think it is a network issue since the thing happens to both digital and physical games.
