Gamespot gives Donkey Kong Country Freeze 5/10

Would be hilarious, as the game likely deserves significantly higher (being Retro and everything)... but it would make for an entertaining time if true.

If that link is true, it's a pretty damn huge gap between it and the game informer review. I have a hard time seeing McShea give a platformer--especially one made by Retro Studios--that low of a score, but it wouldn't surprise me. McShea is a complete joke nowadays, with no consistency whatsoever. Kevin V's the only one worth listening to tbo.

Also Tropical Flop. Nintendo has no games(3rd party support) and most of the exclusives have been lower than normal quality.

I can't comment on what the game deserves, as I haven't played it, but if everyone else scores the game 8-9, I'm not going to be influenced in any way by a 5 on Gamestop.

Neither of us have played it, so we cannot comment on it's quality. However, given Retro's track record, especially with the franchise this game is a part of, it's entirely possible that the game is as good or better than it's predecessor.

I said MOST. Zombii U, Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land. None of those was anything special just going by the scores and sales.

@StrongBlackVine: Pikmin 3 is a treasure, and is the game I sunk the most hours into last year. Everything about Pikmin 3 was great.

All of those games are fantastic. If anything, that is a demonstration that Nintendo's exclusives are better than they've been in a long time.

If the score was true, I wouldn't really concern myself over it unless most other websites also score the game lowly.

After playing for an hour, he thought it was fun, but was down about it being "just fun" and nothing ground-breaking or really new.

After Bioshock Infinite, it wouldn't surprise me if the 5 turned out to be the score.
