I'm going with Catherine Remake. I found it to be a unique and fun experience. Made by the Persona devs, it's a block puzzle game with a cool story and features a protagonist in his early 30s. Has great writing, characters and voice acting. I wish more people would try this game out!

How about you, SW? What game(s) do you wish people would try out?

I wish more people played Xenoblade Chronicles but it's all good.

Catherine is also a good choice.

Slice, Dice, and Rice. Probably my favorite of the one-hit-kill indie fighting games out there. Really good art direction too. I'd post some screen shots, but I'm on my phone.

Well damn, how am I supposed to top an answer like Catherine? You win. You won the thread.

I guess Final Fantasy Tactics is at least worth a mention here.

Games like Shadow Tactics and Underrail have practically 0 marketing while your average Ubisoft dribble has game media kissing their rear end spamming as much shit as humanly possible.

SNK games, at least on the PC side are DOA.

@SolidGame_basic: is it worth it if I already own the original Catherine? Yes I agree it's a fun game but I don't feel like splurging for the extra content the new edition offers. Maybe if the Swirxh version drops in price but it's still pricey.

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. Personally only SRPG that can match Final Fantasy Tactics as the best ever. Amazing game with amazing story and multiple endings. If you love FFT, Tactics Ogre is a must play.

Also, seem Square Project Triangle Strategy or Fantasy or whatever its called will borrow a lot from Tactics Ogre and FFT so I have expectations.

....and of course, more people playing Bloodborne always a good thing.

A lot of independent games, frankly.

Maybe 10-15 years ago I was like most people. The general appearance turned me off. "Oh these things are low budget, how good could they actually be if they don't put any effort into presentation".

Oh dear god, how wrong I was. First off, the gameplay is often significant better than what AAA games have, not to mentioned lightyears ahead of what AAA is doing. And sure, while they don't have the polish or fancy game engines, they more than make up for it in charm and overall art direction.

I just wish people would give them a chance instead of just writing them off. It's a disservice to the developers and, arguably worst of all, the gamers themselves.

Is Underrail good? Bought it a while ago on sale b/c it looked like something I would enjoy but never played it.

FF14. This MMO has been around for a long time, but you can still catch up and enjoy it. Rather, if you are playing now, you will be more satisfied with the amount of content it offers. It has one of the best stories, music, and community IMO, so give it a try.

Dishonored 1&2

A lot of games these days claim you can play either way you want. But it's not completely true: they are either all stealth or all action.

Dishonored is truly an immersive sim.

- You can sneak into a building by turning into a fish and never get caught

- You can finish the entire game by killing noone

- Your actions reflect on the world and decide who you are

- There are millions of way to play steathily

- Or you can play like this:

As always I wish more people played the first 3 (maybe even 4) Breath of Fire games and they were more popular, it's time for another game in the main franchise and not a crappy cellular title.

Other games I would like to see people try out and get more recognition are Atlas and Neverwinter. I would mention games like SOCOM, but seeing as though you can't play them online anymore without jumping through hoops...

Fitness games: Be it Ring Fit Adventure or Beat Saber, Fitness Boxing or many of the others. I know far too many obese gaming addicts who also suffer serious depression. While not all depression is caused by sedimentary lifestyles, obesity and sediementary lifestyles can be caused by it. A fitness game could do them a lot of good.

Dwarf Fortress would be a good pick otherwise. Rimworld does a lot of what Dwarf Fortress does, but with actual graphics and interface. But there is a lot Dwarf Fortress did that no one else does.

@mrbojangles25: Underrail is hella good.

@mojito1988: *High Fives* Keep up those Squats my friend!

@st_monica: I don't think that is necessary. FF14 is currently at peak popularity. In fact, Recently it broke its Steam player activity record, and that is WITHOUT even having the launch of an expansion pack. Hell, FF14 reddit is currently more active than WoW reddit.

Super hot VR or normal, both two absolutely amazing games that definitely could use a sequel or two!

Solasta, while it doesn’t set the world on fire, it shows a ton of potential and would love to see what the devs would do with a higher budget. The gaming world needs more dedicated hardcore rpg developers!

@lamprey263:

Unlike Persona 4 Golden and 5 Royale, Catherine Full Body's new content shows up right at the beginning of the story. It's not a completely different game but the additions definitely make it worth playing it again. Especially with the new love interest. Rin changes a pretty good amount of the story just by existing. Also there's a new multiplayer that you can play locally with more characters.

@mrbojangles25: Put 107 hours into it and still not finished or touched the expansion content.

It's basically OG Fallout with more depth to it's game mechanics and steeper difficulty.

I mean, that's literally it. It's dope as all shit.

Wasteland 2 disappointed me when it came out, but this made up for it.

On sale now (or will be until the end of today) for 8 British loadsamoney. Which is theft.

True, I would've liked more games in the style of Dishonored and Prey.

But I should really give Arkane the benefit of the doubt. Deathloop looks different too, but it could be really good.

I did enjoy Catherine back on PS3 years ago and when I played it day one, it had Death Note vibe going for and that made me enjoy the game more so. Totally give it a recommendation if you like the Anime Death Note that is.

I think gamers were being harsh on Mass Effect: Andromeda, I for one really like the game but mainly the gameplay is what holds it up and didn't care much for the characters model but yeah, wish gamers would give Mass Effect: Andromeda a second chance imo.

Even if you don't like or don't care for Indie games, people really need to try Narita Boy and if you like 80s vibe, than Narita Boy is the game everyone should try.

What's so bad about Arkane's new game RedFall? Its really been a long time we had any Vampire in games much less killing them and I like what I seen so not sure what's the disliking on RedFall?

Slay the Spire. I try to recommend this to people and am told "I don't like card games." It's so frustrating because this game is so much more. Easy to pick up, difficult to master. And definitely has that "one more run" quality. I've fallen in love with the roguelite genre because of it.

Actraiser... SNES. Developed by Quintet for Publisher Enix.

One half the game is a 2d action platformers with sword and magic spells, the other half being a sim city town building-lite with single player story elements tying into the world building.

You play the role of God or the "Master" liberating your people from monsters who have invaded each of the 5(I think 5... Could be wrong.) unique lands. One a green lush geography, one a snow land... Desert etc.

The master job is to first fight 2d through a level with sick ass music and graphics to kill a boss which then allows you to start building the land. While you build roads, houses and teraform the land monsters are always coming at you from their lairs. Think Action/Sim.

Once the lairs close you jump back into 2d Action and take out another level with even better music and rid the land of evil after a boss fight.

Last I knew you could play it on wii? It's so sad. Square has the rights to it I believe. It's one of Mt all time favorite games.
