GTA5, with Last Of Us a close second. Loads of highly rated games this year I haven't played yet though.

Games that scored below a 9.0 have been the GOTY before.

For me personally? It's between The Last of Us and Tomb Raider, and The Last of Us would probably take it.

Man, I have not played enough games this year to make a decision. If BF4 didn't have so many issues I would think it should be in the running. But I imagine it will be between TLOU and GTAV

Why cant i vote for knack? it's a 4.0 game like ryse, and i can vote for that.

@drekula2: Encino Man' On topic though, I'd have to say tlou without hesitation. It's a brilliantly executed game.

I believe it was two years ago that an 8.5 won - thats why I asked why include any that scored below 8.0. And my second sentence meant that more often than not a 9.0+ rated title will win.

On the subject of a non AAA title winning GOTY - why would GS not award their Editor's Choice to a title that they name best game of that year? I don't understand that. (question is more rhetorical than anything)

I haven't played anything this year that even comes close to Super Mario 3D World.
