Unfortunately System Wars has a hate boner for Star Citizen. So good luck here. Personally I think the game is great and looking forward to more updates.

Can you really fault them? The game was announced in 2012. We are in 2022. Is there a release date for this game?
I've had more fun playing the alpha's and watching the game evolve over these past few years than I have with any finished AAA game in as much time.
The game has a lot of really cool ideas, is a lot of fun, there's a lot of ships...and to top it off, it's a niche genre to boot, which makes it all the more special.
If you have any interest in the genre, you should at least check it out.

I can understand the suspicion and cynicism, but people really love to hate on it for some reason and I don't get that.
Star Citizen to me is all about how strong your sense of idealism is, and I think it is sad that so many people turn to hate, especially in the context that this is a hobby and a video game. You know...things we shouldn't take overly serious and are supposed to be about fun.
The cost of entry is less than a new AAA game, they have free-fly events all the time, there's a lot to do in the game already. It's costs almost nothing to hope for the best, I just don't see why people want this game to die.
@mrbojangles25: Most people don't want the game to die. They just want it to be in a release state. Especially the Squadron 42 campaign. However, since they are constantly working on the fundamental game systems which Squadron 42 makes use of, the game is delayed indefinitely. It is what it is. I have no money invested in the project, but I have been following it and a lot of what they are doing is exciting. However, I am holding off until at least the Squadron 42 release before I jump into the Star Citizen universe.
@BassMan: Yeah I want it to be released as well.
A really great story-driven singleplayer space game would be awesome right now. There are a few good space sims but sadly they tend to be more sandbox than storydriven of late.
If they'd release SQ42 by 2024 and then Star Citizen by 2026 I'd be happy.
But I can wait. Plenty of games to play.
Pardon my ignorance. I’m a console user. Are there any plans for Star Citizen to ever come to console In some form?

I don't think there currently is, but the decent PS5 and Series X hardware specs certainly make it more likely to happen than before.
