Fortnite On Xbox Series S: 1080P/60FPS

Next Gen:
PS5 and Xbox Series X players can expect 4K resolution, 60 FPS gameplay, and dynamic visuals and physics; grass and trees will respond to explosions, while liquids and smoke have more realistic simulation effects. Clouds and the Storm have also been enhanced. Split screen modes also support 60 FPS on these consoles.

PS5 Features
For PS5, Fortnite supports the DualSense controller's haptic feedback features, with vibration and trigger feedback. There’s also support for the PS5's home screen Activities, which allows you to go straight to the Battle Royale lobby of your choice - Solo, Duos, or Squads - instead of going via the game’s main menu.

Series S
The Xbox Series S version of the game supports “most” of the visual enhancements available in the Series X version, but runs at 1080p / 60 FPS rather than 4K.


The Xbox One X runs Fortnite at a dynamic (1800P-2160P) 4K resolution at 60FPS. This is just more evidence that the Series S will fall short of the One X in graphical performance. Whoops!

Didn't we already know long ago the X1X has a stronger GPU but XSS has a much stronger CPU hence why XSS is not BC with X1X Enhanced games?

Its for dudebros that don't know nor will never know at what resolution the game is running at.

What they should have done, if its even possible, is use the XboneX as their series S, but replace the outdated af cpu. XboneX specs with a new cpu would've been great for the price, but most likely too expensive on the MS side.

Not even 1440p? Yeah the S is a swing and a miss.

Perhaps they should have upped the ram by a couple gigs and upped the CU count to 30ish but if it is only Dudebros and kids playing on it, does it really matter?

It really doesn't. It'll be a Fortnite, Apex, NBA, NFL, FIFA, CoD, Warzone, Apex machine. The amount of shitty games that will be played on this thing disgust me 😭

Didin't they market this thing with UP TO 1440p and UP TO 120fps? Where are the 1440p games and where are the 120fps games at? All i hear is 900p and 1080p, and i bet you that those are dynamic resolutions that will drop below what we hear.

This is absolutely disastrous. A 1080p machine playing games at 1080p / 60FPS. This is just unacceptable. The box says 1440p. We cannot allow this to fly. If any company were to do anything of a sort, like 8K on the box but run games at 1440p, no one would let that slide. So, no one should let this gross misrepresentation fall under the radar. 😎

I know! MS has the nerve to put 8K on their box but have Watch Dogs run at 1440p. And now this?!?!

Totally expected, would have preferred 1440p but 1080p is what I would expect as a minimum.

Do we have confirmation its native 4k on PS5 and Series X?

Maybe there's genius to this strategy, by having both an S and X they aren't just giving consumers options, they are going to dominate headlines. They will have the best of multiplatform games and the worst and what that means is nobody is talking about the Stadia or that other thing that doesn't excel in any way that's noteworthy and doesn't suck enough to give any mind to or give any pity attention to.

Eh current consoles already have a 60fps mode. I guess slightly better resolution is a plus.

It was obvious that most games will target 1080p 60fps on the series S even new series X/S titles it's what its targeting.

It runs an older less feature rich version of the game at sub 1800p at 60fps. If all the new features where on One X it would run at best similar.

Man MS should just decommission the XBSES and just put the XB1x in its place, since the console is just so weak for being so called "next GEN"

I wouldn't have been against the one X being kept around but those jaguar GPU's were too outdated and the cost of production just wasn't worth it with the series X in place. In theory the series S is just replacing the very outdated one S.

Massive upgrade for base xbox users. Afaik it's mostly a sub 1080p/800p machine. Good news for future Series S owners that previously had a base system.

I didn't say i don't think adults play Fortnite, I said it was concerning that adults play Fortnite, its you who needs to be paying attention.
