I was gonna lol, but now I'm a bit horrified as I just remembered gamers are dumb as **** and will probably happily accept this to be the new normal price for games.

looks like a Steam Sale game at that price. Just wait a few months and it'll be at least 30% off, maybe even sooner. Deathloop just released and it's already 50% off along with CP2077 just last week.

Ouch. where are they pulling 80 euros from? usually they match the US dollar and euro amount (have currencies shifted that much recently? i dont follow it).

I mean i can stomach the 10 quid increase from last gen games some are going with. but an extra 20....thats rough.

I wonder are they pricing for steam sales? maybe they realise that most of their sales are done when the game is discounted so they just launch with a higher price with a view to having a high % drop but still make reasonable money.

otherwise they would really want to be confident they are on to a winner here. The game does look pretty solid from what i have seen...but ouch.

What the **** is the complaints about? It now has a chance of being better because those $10 went into higher production quality. Please wake up, we're in 2021, game developers need to sell their games at that price point or go bankrupt. and yet those assets has to be created by someone. plus game engines are going up in price. price for unreal engine 5 is 1 million once the company makes its first million off there game and thats for one license.

look at other hobby's like models prices went up on the glue and kits.

and I forgot there teams has gone up in size as well. look at insomniac making 2 games at once. also wages has gone up as well. game developers need to pay more an hour to the employees.

I don't really have a problem with $70 games. In some ways it's been really helpful seeing this price point as it just convinces me to wait for a sale. Usually after a month I can pick the game up at half off, and it already has a few patches.

$70 is nothing as 60€ was already ~$70 in Europe. This shit is listed at 80€ for whatever reason.

I guess if you're in the glow of open world games, cool... But if you've been playing them for decades now I can't imagine parting with 70 bucks for another one. Game will be 20 dollars three months after release.

I will buy games on deep discount or used as opposed to supporting this price increase. It would be one thing if it was needed, but the game industry is extremely profitable these days. This is nothing more than CEO's seeing that they can make more money for shareholders and themselves. Pure greed that I will not support. It amazes me that people actually defend this.

Not only will I not buy it at 70, I won't even buy it new on sale. I'm buying this from a used bargain bin. I've had it with 70 dollar price tags.

Everything I've seen leads me to predict Forspoken turns into a huge flop, so if they're betting on bigger entry price sticking this probably isn't the title to try it on.
