For those who are playing Prey (Demo) on PS4 & Xbox One, what's the impression?

I'm currently playing it on PS4 to test out the game and I'll say this. I'm having a blast. Mimics are annoying, yes, but the exploration is what I'm really enjoying. it's like Bioshock in Space in a kind of way which is good because I likeBioshock. I however see what's the complaining about, this is not what we saw from E3 2011, this isn't Prey 2 but still, I did enjoy this demo but I'll wait for the reviews first before buying it on PC and I do want to continue this game just so I can explore the rest of the station and uncover the mysteries of the story.

• The setting and story are interesting although nothing particularly novel or that gripping.
• The combat is truly awful, getting swarmed by mimics when you have only a wrench isn't frightening, it's just irritating especially when you can only swing it 4-5 times before you have to wait for it to "recharge".
• The upgrade system is just the same old stuff - move heavy objects, hack terminals, etc.
• The hacking mini game is horrible, give me a regular puzzle rather than some annoying bouncy maze any day of the week.
• The music is all of the show and the engine looks pretty tired, I'd guess it's the original Dishonored rather than Dishonored 2 engine but I could be wrong.
• Either way, I'd strongly suggest trying the demo before you buy. In that sense, kudos to Bethesda for releasing the demo and will wait for the reviews before buying it on PC.

Won't bother with the demo (especially if it is only available on console). I plan to buy the PC version. So, I will wait for the full game and enjoy it without any restrictions.

Yeah the setting is definitely an interesting one. About 20 minutes in and you really want to find out what the hell is going on with any of it.

I don't know if I'm gonna play any more of it though, it looks like a game I will buy any way so I'd rather just wait for the full experience.

Also, playing this on PS4 isn't really enjoyable to me. Camera becomes blurry when turning around, controls aren't the best for an FPS... Really, I just wished they would've done a PC demo :(

@davillain-: Being the big dishonored fan I am I can tell you this:

Dishonored 1 runs on Unreal Engine 3

Dishonored 2 runs on the Void Engine, which is a form of ID Tech 5 (they also claim to be using some ID Tech 6 tech but I could be mis remembering)

And Prey is running on the Cryengine

I played it on my X1. I had a few frame rate drops. The graphics aren't exactly the best of the gen by any means. The mimics and phantoms look so uninspired, and unoriginal. The gameplay is abysmal. The setting was been there done that. The story didn't draw me in. I can tell this is going to be a shit game. Thanks for the demo Arkane, it saved me money. I'll never buy this game. One of the worst experiences I've had this gen.

is the combat supposed to be similar to Morrowind? I heard people are having problems killing mimics, and it was the first thing that came to mind as in Morrowind, you have to look directly at a rat to kill it.

And I think there is supposed to a wench skill, so maybe that would make the wench more effective.

As i originally expected, the aliens is the only thing i dislike. What a garbage alien design, Arkane. Bravo.

I'm a fan of Arkane Studios so I was hoping that this one would deliver. I am still going to pick it up come May when it's released. :)

Yeah have DOOM got it at release and love it, but want more shooters. When you got new PC you dont want dig up some old games with crappy graphics you most likely already played. Best game so far that is new i played is Ghost Recon Wildlands but that is not same type of shooter like DOOM which i like more.

Honestly I don't even know what shooter to play first

Battlefield 1, Day of Infamy, Mirage Arcane Warfare, Killing Floor 2, Titanfall 2

and then there is all the upcoming ones like Call of Duty: WW2, Battlefront 2 and Rising Storm 2.

And that's just talking about multiplayer shooters xD

Yeah, well Call of Duty can be interesting if they still have singleplayer in it. When i mean i want a good shooter i mean singleplayer, cooperative mode does not hurt tho. Best i can think of this year is Destiny 2 that FINALLY comming to PC. Yeah i know that is multiplayer game too but if it is like first game you can play singleplayer in it but not able to do raid bosses.

I can't get enough SP fps either, fps still remains my favourite genre !

So I just played it. Its ok... Very Deus Ex x System Shock. The demo was really boring though, the atmosphere wasnt as good as Bioshock and the enemies were just ehhh. The music is straight up awful, its so loud at points it doesnt need to be. All in all, its fine, nothing special.

Is Prey on the Playstation 4 Pro getting some kind of boost or enhancement?
