For me it's got to be Darkstalkers. I would love to see Capcom work with ArcSystem works. They could lean on the Anime aspect of the originals that had beautiful artwork and make a game that looks just like the promotional art.

I am not a fighting games fan whatsoever, but Killer Instinct deserves to come back. I have only heard good things about the last one.
I want to see 3D fighters make a comeback. Seems like the only popular one left is Tekken. Soul Calibur and DOA both kinda flopped, and Virtua fighter has only re-released VF5 for the past 15 years.
My biggest wish is for a new or true successor to Bushido Blade, but would also love to see Rival Schools, Power Stone, Tech Romancer, or ARMS get another shot.
I am a big fan of fighting games, especially from the 90s, so there are many.
Capcon
Konami/Hudson
Sega/Atlus
SNK
Square Enix/Taito
- Darkstalkers
- Killer Instinct
- Capcom vs SNK
- Marvel vs Capcom
Not sure what they could do to Killer Instinct, they did a great job with the... Remake I guess it was? Or was it a sequel. But can they honestly re-interpret the gameplay with different styles like they have with Street Fighter? For example, SF2, alpha, SF3, SF4, SF5 etc.
Capcom vs SNK was AMAZING. I never liked Marvel vs Capcom, because I had no attachment to the Marvel characters as fighters, but what I loved about Capcom vs SNK was a huge roster and every character was crafted for the genre. Capcom vs SNK 3 would be the most exciting announcement for me from the genre for me, by far.
Killer Instinct 2013 was basically Darkstalkers in a way, most of the KI characters have similar traits from Darkstalkers so technically KI is as close to current Darkstalkers as we'll ever gonna get and hey, it works for me as I love KI 2013.
I love fighting games, I wanna see the return of Bloody Roar as I still play Bloody Roar Gamecube from time to time when I'm in the mood for old-school gaming of course.
Pretty sure Darkstalkers came out 2 days ago.
Pretty sure TC means a new Darkstalkers game.
Killer Instinct is my answer.
Yes, I want a new entry not just a re-release of a 25 year old game. Although I am enjoying the Capcom-Fighting collection.
I like Killer instinct as well but at least we got one last generation.

I think Power Stone was actually in the Capcom leak that has turned out to be 100% accurate so far. I'm looking forward to that.
@HalcyonScarlet: MKX and 11. The female characters stopped dressing like Spirit Store-stripper-ninjas, and their tits looked more natural instead of like silicone. Ruffled some feathers.
Edit: and Sonya Blade looks old now! Forgot about that one.
Semi off-topic but I never undrestood why Returnal got such a negative reception for the protagonist being a middle aged woman.
If people are complaining about banality, it would be great if players would stop complaining whenever a game steps out of the norm.
@eoten: lmao, everything has gone woke with you 🤣. I haven't played mk in a while, but its still a brutal game from some of the fatalities I'm seeing on YouTube.
As for me, I really used to love the WWE games back in the day. Nowadays, it feels like they dropped.
My biggest wish is for a new or true successor to Bushido Blade,
Yes, 💯. Nice choice.
I’d like to see a take on the BB concept with current tech, that game was far ahead of its time. Closest I think I’ve seen are the duals from Ghost of Tsushima, but that’s just for overall lethality, not individual limb disablement.
I've never been the biggest fighting game fan, but I always had a soft spot for Battle Arena Toshinden and the Guilty Gear games.
I also kind of liked the Virtua Fighter/Fighting Vipers era that was around for a little bit. And Soul Calibur always seemed kind of cool.
Killer Instinct on the One is a pretty decent game, and I do wonder if that series deserves a new entry.
@st_monica:I forgot about Power Stone!

@MirkoS77
Bushido Blade, absolutely. I've been wanting this forever. This was one of the original games that prompted me to buy a PS1. The devs that made it made later games like Kengo but none that had what made BB great (one hit kills).
Fortunately there are two spiritual successors that are either in EA or coming soon. Hellish Quart goes for ultra realistic sword fighting across different styles and historical periods and is out in EA now. Die By The Blade is more of a cyberpunk samurai type game that had a KS a while back. It's in development but there's no demo just yet but it seems like it'll be the closest thing to the original game.
@byshop: I have my eye on both of those. Hellish Quart is neat, but I kinda feel like it's too realistic. I'm more excited for Die by the Blade, even though we don't know much about. My hope is it plays well, but doesn't overlook the fapping-about aspect. The first thing people remember about Bushido Blade is the one-hit-kills, but the second thing that comes to mind is running around cutting bamboo. I loved that, and that the levels were all interconnected. You could unlock secret endings if you ran away from the first fight across multiple levels and jumped down a sink hole into an underground cave. I want that shit in a spiritual successor too.
Yie Ar Kung-Fu
International Karate
Virtua Fighter
Fighters Megamix
The Outfoxies
Zero Divide
Marvel vs Capcom (not counting Infinite)
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
WWF SmackDown
Ehrgeiz
Power Stone
I too would love to see a modern version of Fighters Megamix. Sega should bring in some of the popular characters from the Yakuza series and have Kiryu and Hornet fight there, haha.
I don't remember the name, but there was one I played in the arcades. It seemed to be based on fantasy and monsters and stuff. You could be like a barbarian looking dude but I think there might have been orcs and other stuff too.
It had weapons as well, in fact I think it might have been focused on weapons.
Graphics were typical for the time, it wasn't 3D it had like street fighter art. This would have been mid- to early-90's.

I didn't really think about that stuff, I love MKX though. I have MK11, I just haven't gotten to it yet.
I think it would look weird and out of place in the story and game if it was full of stripper ninjas. It's either a game for teenage boys or it's trying to be a bit more serious with what it's trying to say and appeal to more people.
And Sonya Blade is meant to look older... She has an adult daughter now. I thought the whole point given the story was meant to be about how time has passed, there's a new generation of fighters etc. :-S
@mrbojangles25:
Might be Chaos Breaker. If so, pretty fun game even if I didn't play it much.

Die By The Blade is the one I'm more interested in as well (I pledged to the KS campaign) but Hellish Quart has some brutal one on one. I'm just more interested in katanas than historical weapons and styles. Also, the running around aspect you bring up was a great part of BB. It's very anime for a sword fight to start with one of the characters fleeing through a bamboo forest while the other one chases throwing knives and slicing through trees.

Lol KI is Nothing like Darkstalkers. The only thing they have in common is they have a cool werewolf. The combat system and visual style however couldn't be further apart.

I loved Battle arena Toshinden. I don't think that developer is around anymore though and I'm not sure who has the IP. It was probably the 4th biggest 3d Fighting game in that era behind Tekken, Soul Caliber and Virtual Fighter.
