FFXV Event Page source hints at PC release

Final Fantasy fans, get ready for a treat. As we’ve already said, we’re almost certain that Final Fantasy XV will, one day, come to the PC. And according to the official website for Final Fantasy XV’s Uncovered event, a PC version is already planned.

NeoGAF’s member ‘KupoNut’ has shared the following images, showing that the game will be released on the PC.

While I doubt it would surprise anyone if it were true, the source also says it could just be SE being lazy which would also not surprise anyone

I'll live not waiting for the PC version and grabbing it for consoles.

You seem awfully sure about that. I seriously doubt the PC port releases simultaneously with the console versions. You will wait a year or more as is customary.

Could just be same reuse statement for other sites. For this game steampowered.com url is never true perhaps. I would be surprised if game doesn't come to pc at some point though.

I think they'll get a port out of the door relatively quickly... Still, I'll probably just buy it on PS4 if it doesn't release day 1 on PC.

@lawlessx: That's a tough one with Final Fantasy, though I heard Lightning Returns wasn't bad (i've yet to try it).

I think the fact that they waited almost an entire year after releasing the first two games to release the final installment shows they care to some degree

Are you sure FFXV is coming to PC? Back in December, I remember reading an article that SE said it themselves that there's no PC port coming at all. Not that I was expecting a PC version, so I was gonna get the PS4 anyway. @lawlessx: I hope so... I picked up the XIII series in the Steam sale and the original release is just a shoddy mess... Half the time it won't recognize the Xbox controller. You need to change some settings in Windows.

Nah. Even if there is a delay. then no more than one month. The game is too big to rely only on consoles sales-wise. I bet they just brewing hype among PC gamers, in reality, PC version will be revealed very soon.

They weren't releasing Final Fantasy games on PC like crazies past months only to delay the most important one. And when the PC announcement happens, I will drink your tears BlackyWine :P

@jhonMalcovich: What does big have to do with anything? See Destiny. Look how long it took GTAV to hit PC. I will say if launches on PC close to the console date it won't be a great port. They have been working overtime on console performance.

PC isn't the priority although I won't be surprised if the PC version outsells the Xbox One version.

@StrongBlackVine: Square Enix isn't Rockstar lately we have seen games made by their japanese studio that have been released only a few months after the console version. If Konami was able to release mgs v for the pc alongside the console version Sqaure Enix could do the same or a few months after.

@godspellwh: Maybe they will. Just seems weird that they would keep the PC version a secret if it was releasing so close to the console versions.

Available on PS4 and Xbox One. Get your pre-orders in and keep the console manufacturers happy...........

(Oh by the way, now that you've pre-ordered the game for your favourite console, we're also releasing it on PC where it'll be cheaper and run better.)

Konami were quiet for a while with the PC version as well. Even when it was confirmed they didn't reveal a date right away.

Nah, you are talking about different companies. Look how little time it took them to port Rise of Tomb Raider to PC. Square Enix has been porting as many games to PC as possible in such a short period of time. I won't be surprise if they are aiming to release FFXV day 1 on PC, especially considering that they will lose money if they release it later as the hype will die out with months passing. Besides games sales on xbox one are not good enough to recoup money from such a big multiplat release, and PS4 can't haul it alone.

FFXIII PC port was horrible. I hope SE learns what a proper PC game is.

@GarGx1: Pre-orders can be cancelled. If they were going to use that strategy it would release on console first then a few months later announce a PC version. That way they can get customers to double dip.

@jhonMalcovich: Japanese games and Westen games by SE are too different things. Tomb Raider has no relevance to FF in any sense. You think SE would ever keep a new FF off PlayStation for a year?

Nobody should want to play this game anyways, FF hasn't been good in a long, long, long time. ;)

Square Enix using the Luminous Studio engine for FFXV pretty much gave it away. That engine is a Direct3D11 PC based engine, so that pretty much confirms that a PC build was there. That base build is then transferred and optimized for PS4 and Xbox One.

This isn't the Crystal Tools engine, which was designed primarily for the consoles.

Director Hajime Tabata was pretty clear discussing it during the Comic Fiesta.
