FFXIII Theme Song: Am I a complete girl for liking this?

Can't we all have horribly messy guilty pleasures?

In the recently shown FFXIII trailer they announced that the linked song was going to be the theme for FFXIII. At first I was like, "Eww, pop music in mah game." Honestly, after listening to it, I kind of think that it's going to fit the game really nicely. You can tell just by listening to it that there's a really emotional and dramatic story lined up for us.

Yeah, it's gonna' be Snake Eater all over again. Gonna' cry like a baby...

Well its been kind of a tradition for each final fantasy to have some pop idol do the theme since FFVIII, but I think this is the first time they went with someone non-Japanese.

Seriously isn't this like usual since like FFVIII. It was something like Eyes on Me. If I'm not wrong every one had a song since then. The only strange is that it isn't a Japanese artist.

Heh, I think that song sounds good on it's own. But since it's FFXIII, it's even better!

That sounds like some really simple stuff to sing, not a great song at all. It sounds like you have your major and relative minor or whatever and that's it. Why do people get credit for singing simple stuff?

I was gonna import but March isnt that bad of a wait, I expected May TBH. Plus Im pretty much broke.

i always wanted to hear NIN-the day the whole world went away when i reached the halfway point of FF6 (after clearing the floating continent)...... woulda been awesome.

i think if the music fits the game then its great. my problem is they've been making the past couple of FF games with emo kids and sappy pop songs. i am neither emo nor am i into pop music so i find it kinda grating to see an awesome game with such meh characters.

I just heard the song(turns out its the same link as TC's too). While I think its an 'ok' song, why couldn't they just make an english dub version of the other japanese theme? I prefer that one a lot more. :(

Not at all. I listen to a lot of music people would probably consider girly (Britney Spears, Rihanna, Paramore, Beyonce, The Veronicas, Avril Lavigne, The list goes on and on) and I'm no less of a man for it so don't worry about it. I actually like Leona too and I think this song is pretty good. I think it'll go good with the game (or at least I hope so).

Wow are you serious? I want my JRPGS TO stay Japanese I don't want them englishfied if I did, I would go play oblivion or mass effect or something and I hate those games. Please god no!!!!!

Square Enix what happened? You had one of the best music themes of all time with final fantasy 4, and then you ruined it. Might as well have Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus do the theme. Lame.
