Devs are claiming a fully destructible level. Looks really interesting cos this has been missing massively in games, massive destruction and physics, and after the disaster that is 2042, I hope this one can be good enough.

There's also this one that's more PVE focused that was revealed a while ago.

Gotta say, i do like the style of both of their games. But Nexon? REALLY. Moving away from one griddy ****, to arguably EVEN greedier fucks? What the hell. Will try both games, probably.

Edit: Just learned it'll be a f2p game. A nexon f2p game. FFS...................

Both look pretty cool. Thanks for sharing, wasn't aware of either and now I have something to look forward to. Arc Raiders looks more my thing with the online co-op PvE thing going for it, and it is on consoles. The destruction in The Finals looks great, the foam for creating barriers and bridges could be cool, had fun with the idea in Prey. Not really into PvEs but might try if it ever comes to consoles.

So this is from ex-DICE devs? Well, clear where the talent of that studio went. They're using Unreal Engine for these, I bet they're oh so glad to out Frostbite behind them. Not sure why EA wants to keep pushing it like they have no other choice, especially since I have heard EA compelling all their studios to use it has created a lot of development problems and that has really come to hurt EAs reputation as a result. I have very little faith they'll be making games that looks this good anytime soon. I look forward to seeing what else Embark makes in the coming years.

They both look cool, but may be a little too over the top and chaotic for my liking. I like the more grounded feel of the old BF games. I hate the specialists and shit from 2042. BF should not have grappling hooks, wing suits, robot dogs, deployed turrets, wall hack scanners, etc.. Hero shooter bullshit does not belong in BF.

I agree, EA's just chasing trends with the fortnite kids. As for Embark, it would be cool if their next game is a bit like Battlefield.

It looks interesting. However, there are so many competitive FPS games at the moment.😔

I am looking forward to Arc Raiders though.

Strange that nobody is bothered by Nexon being behind it all.

It's doesn't look bad. Hopefully there's some more stability and everything doesn't get destroyed. If every round at every location is like the trailer it's way to cartoony and wouldn't be fun to me. Also I hope they have a leveling system weapon wise and rank like they had in bf games. Good choice of weapons/attachments too.

That did not look that generic at all. Kinda reminded me of bad company 1, actually.

Can't say I have any interest in competitive shooters, battle royale or battle royale-like games, or free-to-play for that matter.

But with that said, the game does look slick.

I agree, it is missing in games.

Not a developer, but maybe it's really hard to implement? Or resource intensive?

I think it is a great gameplay element to add; I loved it the Red Faction games, and thought it was implemented into the middle Battlefield games (later ones seemed to not really make use of it that much) well.

@mrbojangles25: System intensive and server intensive. Since it's current gen only + PC, they could do destruction better now. 2042 could have had this kind of destruction were not for the 128 player thing. If it was kept to 64 players, we could've had something closer to Embark's destruction.

Seems its obvious were most of the talent of that left DICE went to. I've been keeping tabs on Arc Raiders for a long time but The Finals is new to me, it looks interesting enough to keep tabs on too.

@mrbojangles25: Physics can become very unpredictable in game development and unpredictable behavior is harder to troubleshoot. Most games that implement physics, do so with constraints for the previous reasons.
