Yep, you heard it right Everything releases on the Quad today. And by Everything I mean Everything. Just watch the video.

Apparently this is a game made by artist David OReilly who worked in the movie Her. Hence the philosophical background. I started watching the video thinking it was going to be something like Life of Black Tiger but ended up listening to the whole thing and really enjoying the insights and how they connect with the things happening on the screen. Not a traditional game by any stretch but I really like how it actually gets out the message in an interactive way. Imagine if game media could be used like this to transmit all types of knowledge to people, not only philosophical. Anyways it seems like an interesting experience at least.

And it got a 9/10 on Polygon so obligatory Everything >>>> Failo Wars 2

Like Nier: Automata, Sony isn't paying for these games to be PS4 exclusives. Developers just aren't bothering to waste time on a dead platform like the Xbox One.

Sony does pay them. There is no evidence for this but it is actual fact.

This just shows, that it's faster to put crap onto the PSN Store than on Steam ... really speaks for Sony

This is obviously not an experience for everyone.

Let's face it Everything is gaming gone full-on Pascal’s “Man’s Disposition” philosophy using fractal geometry as a medium.

If this is beyond your interest that's understandable but make no mistake what the developer and creator have done with Everything is nothing short of amazing.

Well but at least the crap Sony puts out as you claim is not hyped as one of the main of the few big titles like on the xbone.

I really like that people are trying new experiments with gaming. This looks like a promising direction. It is like a slightly different concept of game and play where you don't have a goal or a competition but just explore and have goofy fun. Sort of like how a kid plays a game of turning around as fast as possible just to get dizzy and laugh about it. No need of complex rules or objectives just be there and enjoy. And the best of all is that it is coupled with philosophy and insights into what we are as humans. Yes, I think it's an amazing conception.

I absolutely agree! Nothing wrong with using gaming as a medium to teach children. 1000x better than what David Cage is trying to do with games.

I enjoy both approaches. Heavy Rain was a brilliant game despite its flaws and a new experience. I want diversity in gaming not choose one or two directions and that everything goes that way. I used to love books that let you decide where to go on with the story like, jump to page 24 now or to 56, etc. Cage is trying to do that type of narrative with games and I find that brilliant too and I think it has a lot of potential. He should hire proper writers for the games though, I mean the stories are cool but they could be much better. I still have a lot of hope for Detroit since it's his most ambitious project until now and the story reminds me of Blade Runner.

I disagree! I find nothing wrong with with using gaming as long as it's used as an active and interactive medium to achieve whatever goal the creator is set out to achieve. However as soon as you try to turn it into a passive medium like what David Cage or Telltale Games are doing, I have a serious problem with. They have simple replaced the movie with a graphics of a game and usually a trash script filled with plot holes and worse acting. Especially in the case of David Cage who in his own words wanted to make movies but was actually too shit for that medium.

I think you have to make peace with the fact that not every game is aimed at everybody and that is the way it should be. gaming is big enough to have niche games. You shouldn't feel alienated or threatened.

Who says they are trying to "turn it into a passive" medium? Last I heard Heavy Rain didn't took any sales away from Call of Duty. Every type of game can subsist.

Well, they pretty much are. Modern gaming is all about casualization and the 'wow moments' instead of gameplay innovations. In fact forget innovations, most of the time they are too afraid to implement the most established gameplay design principles in favor of QTE's and hand holding. Also your example of CoD isn't the best when it has serviceable gameplay at best again depending on Micael Bay moments instead of player controlled actions.

Anyway, we should get back on topic. This topic isn't about casualization or David Cage.

It's not about feeling threatened but rather about the fact that these 'games' and their makers tthen try to present their products as something revolutionary for the gaming medium and have the guts to tell us that they are not trying to turn it into a movie. I'm again directly referencing David Cage here. Another thing that really pisses me off is then the gaming media praises these products as something out of the world overlooking the fact that this is not the passive medium while giving points for how emotion the supposed plot hole ridden B-grade story was.

Just don't play those games then. Load of other stuff to play. Leave them to those that do!

No point getting pissed of about stuff that is not aimed at you.

Like Nier: Automata, Sony isn't paying for these games to be PS4 exclusives. Developers just aren't bothering to waste time on a dead platform like the Xbox One.

LOL yet Nier isn't a PS4 exclusive. I can buy it from Steam on PC HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Is Deep Down on there?

On PSN or Pornhub?
