Sony are worse, I mean movies on disc disguised as games :(
I don't see how on disc dlc is worse than regular day one dlc. Which both companies do a lot.
And with that sad day one dlc is far from the worst thing these companies do.

I know right?
With such piss poor content on their disks no wonder they're being outsold by their competitors.
Capcom took a mediocre and overrated franchise that was Resident evil. and then decide to make a great game of particular franchise that is Resident evil 7. so they are good in my book for that.
that achievement I have never seen in gaming history before.

What can I say casuals are easily fooled.
But at least you can multitask when watching one of Sony's movies, one hand to push the odd button while using the other to stuff popcorn in your gob :)
What is "on disc dlc"?
It's basically a DLC code on the main game itself and the only way to get the DLC from the disc is to buy DLC code to unlock the code within the main game. But Capcom got caught from Street Fighter X Tekken years ago and if you want to read more about it, this is: Capcom Gets Busted; On-Disc DLC Discovered For Street Fighter X Tekken
I miss the 3 disk boxes, they had a awesome appeal but you cannot run a family and keep games.
So digital is future.
Capcom makes good games, EA does not
case closed
Eh. They both make good games over the years.
Both will milk customers for everything they've got with whatever scam business model is available to them (DLC, loot crates, seasons passes, anything that they think they can get away with they will do). The only real difference is EA tends to shrink back to their "annual franchises" whenever they take risks and fail. Whereas Capcom does't really have reliable "annual franchises" in the same way, yet they are still milking Street Fighter II.
I've actually been playing a ton of Battlefront 2 lately, know what, despite all the hate and the loot crate garbage, it's still damn fun. It'll be my go to shooter for awhile. Even the campaign wasn't... terrible. It was just sort of blah.
EA tried to push in pay2win as standard by bastardizing the Starwars IP, which prior to them getting it, had a history of fantastic games. They killed many, many great studios and IP's, including Command And Conqueror, which more or less (outside of Dune) intented the RTS. And whenever they are criticized rather than sounding like human-beings they spew out outdated bussiness slang hoping you are as thick as pig shit.
They are scum, easily the worst.
I haven't bought dlc in 10 years. The last dlc I bought were maps for COD4. I've always hated the practice. I don't buy many games at launch anymore. I wait for complete editions or if there isn't one I buy it when it's majorly discounted. I come from a time when you bought a game it was a complete package. I can't bring myself to pay full retail unless the game is complete.
A lot of people have grown to except dlc. I don't and never will. Soon loot boxes will become the norm and people will except it.
If and when gaming goes full digital my gaming habits will drastically change. I might even go retro only. I'm already sick of the greedy business practices from this generation.
RE7's dlc's are good. Except that it doesn't look like they are ever going to release a VR version for the PC. I'm quite disappoint with that.
Looks like EA started the on disc dlc thing with NFS: Carbon.

Yeah man, I couldn't have said it better myself.
We are what ? 5 years into EA having the license now and they have so far put forth ZERO quality singleplayer games.
They put out a Battlefront game that was a platform to sell season pass content on top of, and they put out a Battlefront game that was a platform to sell lootboxes on top of.
It's time for EA's license to get revoked, and for people with actual passion to make a Star Wars game to get their chance.

As someone who hasn't played RE7 and who is looking into maybe purchasing a complete edition, what are RE7's DLCs about and why do you say they are good ?

I'm very disappointed in the lack of a single player focused game, there is a huge opportunity and they are blowing that...
But realistically, both the DICE Battlefront games are actually very good multiplayer games. I don't get the issues with the 1st one, other than that it didn't have single player. But DICE can't make a single player campaign to save their life anyway. All the updates ended up free, so even if you didn't want to pay for DLC you got it all anyway. Game was light on content at launch, but after the 4 free expansions it had plenty. Who's complaining?
The new games tried the pay to win scam, but ultimately that backfired as well. Take that out, and it's still a terrific shooter IMO. It feels far more "complete" than the last game did at it's launch anyway - if it gets some expansions for free it really will be great IMO. Realistically, the only problem is the grind it would take to level up all the vehicles and characters. I guess that's where the "pay to win" comes into play, and that's a shame, but for me it doesn't detract too much. Hopefully they tweak the way this works so it's less of a grind to unlock things. Better yet, get rid of the whole lo unnecessary lootbox system entirely.
Not sure about Capcom as a whole, but when it comes to RE7 DLC it is definitely way more pricey than I am willing to pay, even when on sale they barely drop the price within acceptable range.
Nonsense... capcom has been giving me free DLC for years in Monster Hunter. And the stuff I have paid for in the resident evil DLCs has been worth it. RE7s DLC is phenomenal!
Also, I have not paid a dime in the SFV dlc... and I have every stage and character I want. The only thing I bought extra was a new outfit... but I used steam badge sales for that purchase.

The creme of the crop are the Ethan Must Die mode and Jack's 55th Birthday...
Ethan Must Die... is a run where you have one life and your goal is to kill Margaruite. You start with a knife and thats it. Items are randomized but all enemies and traps are static. It seemed impossible my 1st try
Jacks 55th is like the mercenary mini games from games past... kills increase your time bonus and you need to collect food to bring back to Jack. Chain kills and stack time to finish.
Banned footage has 4 different games modes. 1 is a puzzle where your trapped in bed and need to escape. 1 is a mini game where you buy upgrades and set traps and need to survive.
A ton of different game modes all taking place in different locations in the house. As a whole it is pretty fun.
I just finished Not a Hero, mini story mode that plays like the main game. A lot shorter tho... but it has some unlocks. And professional difficulty is tuff here because you only have a knife for a while.
... I have not even touched the End of Zoe yet...
Ethan must Die and Jack's 55th are definitely the highlights.

From the sounds of it, it seems like a game you like coming back too ?
Anyway, I bought the Gold Edition, very much looking forward to playing it :)
@R4gn4r0k: Indeed... I enjoy the gauntlet run missions for sure.
But even the main game had me showing up for reruns... the unlock system nails it just right. No true new game+ but enhanced new games with new tools/toys in your box to start.
I may start playing it this weekend :D
You played it on PC or console ?

PC ... good port, lots of options
Honestly, this is my most successful thread and I didn't even try. Goes to show that quality does not equal quantity.
Capcom is the only company that has screwed over all consoles in a generation (Wii U/ Xbox with Street Fighter V, PS4/Vita with Monster Hunter 3, and they canceled 3DS games).
Say what you want about EA, but they are loyal to the Xbox. Even when the Xbox was flopping, they still made games for the system.
That was pretty bad but EA has fucked over people alot worse. EA had a pay to win like system in Battlefront. Then they have the audacity to keep charging for Madden at full price every year even though it is just a glorified roster up date. The worst is how they swallow up talented studios and ruin their good franchises like Dead Space and Mass Effect just to name a few.
Could someone make a Destiny timeline of everything they did wrong? I think that would be an eye opener for some people. XD
What a weird thread. Last time people talked about Capcom and their on disc DLC was like 2014. If it wasn't weird enough to randomly bring that up again in 2018, worse than fucking EA? Not even close. Capcom still makes good games whereas everything from EA is pure crap. Put some asshole practices on top of that and you have one of the worst companies in existence.
