Wii should continue to sell extremely well, and what happens when the demand drops some?

A $199.99 Wii.

You know that the price will drop, and the hardware will continue to sell, and the games will get better and better. Third party developers are just now seeming to grasp the potential of motion controls.

Hopefully it will rock. They've had enough time to perfect the controls.

There's not going to be a reason for Nintendo to drop Wii's price for a VERY long time. I wouldn't be surprised if both 360 and PS3 are cheaper than it before the price drop is announced.

Demand won't die down until Wii 2 is announced.

And the other cuff...Mario Kart

It will be $250 and sales will be rock steady at 300-400K units a month through the year.

And I predict 600K plus in sales for March.

Nintendo doesn't need to worry about demand right now, they need to worry about SUPPLY. You know how many Wii's would be sold per month if everyone who wanted one could get one?

Do you think that the fact that their hard to get increases the demand for them even more? I think sometimes it does.

Sometimes it does, sure. And then you get the people, and I know several, who have not been able to find one for over a year now and have pretty much given up. The supply problem is a big issue either way. A year and a half after the launch and they're still hard to find. Whether that's because of consumer interest or not doesn't matter, Nintendo still needs to make Wii's easier to get.

I have begun to wonder if a pricedrop will really help Wii sales if/when they die down, they are already known as the cheapest of the 3 systems, sell like hotcakes at it current price and shows no signs of slowing down, makes nintendo money hand over fist...even if sales slowed a tiny bit to leave systems on the shelves for a day even a week, why would Nintendo drop the price and shoot themselves in the foot profit wise?
