I agree with you. DS library was okay. 3DS library is shaping up to be much better. Currently it has the best set of games between all current gen systems.

Mario Kart 7. 8 comes out on WiiU next month but yeah, 3DS has a great library so far.

The first party output on the 3DS is definitely better than the first party output on the DS.

It's the DS third party that put it on a whole 'nother level, though.

No question about quantity for the DS library, but quality? I would still take the 3DS over the DS, even with FF4 and TWEWY.

Fire Emblem. Animal Crossing. Zelda. Star Fox. Donkey Kong. Mario and Luigi (comparing Partners in Time to Dream Team). Pokemon (comparing Diamond/Pearl to X/Y). That, plus representation of franchises that simply weren't on DS- Kid Icarus, Pilotwings, Super Smash Bros.- and the 3DS first party output is easily superior to the DS first party output.
