Nothing shocks me about EA anymore. Everytime I hear them mentioned, it's some shitty new attempt at screwing us over. I'm glad I don't support these morons.

Should be a perfect opportunity to induce discipline among the youngstars.

Want to play demo? Save 5 dollar.

An "error". Because just like the first commenter at Polygon said, it couldn't possibly be EA testing the waters. And let's be honest, people would be dumb enough to pay for it.

And they will continue to do it too because there are actually people out there that will pay it. Like PSN and XBL subscriptions, If no one paid then it would be free.

I'm sure they'll apologize and everything will be a-ok again (or at least that is what EA thinks)

Like they have done for BF4 and Dungeon Keeper...

This isn't something we can point fingers at EA for.

Sony complimented it PS1 with a demo full of wonderful games, some of which I thoroughly enjoy personally, btw.

However, when did this trend stop? Well, the answer is not when Sega exited. I'll just leave you with that....

Oh, EA. Sigh.

I'm pretty sure it's an actual error though. Even they aren't that dumb. It would be insane for them to be giving free games every month only to start charging for demos.

No. EA crossed another line. And there'll be enough people to buy into this and let yet another abusive business practice become norm... Hope I'm wrong.

Heh yeah, early last gen if I recall correctly.

Now it seems Activision is a bit cooler (for the time being).

What developer releases demos now? Monetizing them makes perfect sense when you consider how they most usually turn people off from buying.

Loading Video...

Don't complain. This is an easier, cheaper way than buying the full game and finding out you don't like it.

This thread feels like a dumb knee jerk reaction. Lets not think about anything, lets just assume they are trying to screw us over. The UFC demo has been out for a couple weeks now, why would they charge for that now?

Aaahh.. it's just an error in the system. Hopefully no one was stupid enough to pay for the demos.

http://www.polygon.com/2014/7/4/5870363/xbox-one-ea-charges-for-fifa-14-ea-sports-ufc-demos-error

I was a bit puzzled as I remember the UFC demo was FREE when it was first released on the XB1 and PS4, so this didn't make much sense. Glad they are fixing it. I wonder if we will get demos for Indie games again like we did on PS3 and XBox 360 last gen.
