Jetstream Sam DLC is pretty tough in Revengeance, his whole kit is kind of interesting in how it's built around charge heavies. That and I got super used to a max health bar, fuel cell, n the pole arm being a power house. And hooray, flying enemies are shit again -_-

Just looking for a place to discuss fighting games, particularly SFV. Seems impossible really.

Gamefaqs - Pure mix of hater ass trolls and shill apologists. The amount of level headed users can be counted on one hand.

Eventhubs - A cult of apologists. Say something that can even remotely be interpreted as a negative and get your comment down-voted to the point of being hidden and eventually just banned. So I never even bothered to sign up, I only lurk.

SRK - Snobs, politics, and theory fighters. Good for technical advice, actual game discussion is nearly non-existent.

Seems the internet and fighting games just don't mix. Damn it I miss the arcades.

@ConanTheStoner: To be fair, the genre (much like racing) has lost a lot of steam ever since the early 2000's. Not necessarily by a lack of quality I feel, mostly just other genres taking their spots (TPS and FPS games in particular).

That said, Gamefaqs is awful for everything :P

Oh for sure man. The genre hasn't been full blown mainstream since the 90s really. These days there are plenty of avenues for discussion with stuff like RPGs, shooters, and a variety of open world games, but a lot of these other genres are relatively niche.

Genre popularity comes and goes, what can ya do. Also doesn't help that the fighting game community is so snobbish, acting like it's some exclusive club. Very off-putting to newcomers. Oh well.

Honestly though, if I can find a good job somewhere in SoCal, I'll move right away lol. One of the few places where arcade communities still thrive in the states. Chill on the beach by day, hang with other fighting game losers by night? Yes plz.

That shit was so crazy lol. I was part of the problem for about a day. Once I saw that 9 out of every 10 matches was against a Ken player, I said nope. Switching characters.

I guess people were really attracted to Kens flashy style, but damn lol.

I really don't understand it though. Ryu, Akuma, and plenty of other SF characters have similar moves. But it's always the Ken players who get spam happy with it.

@ConanTheStoner: I have this absolute reluctance to rarely use characters that are popular in games. Of all the characters in Overwatch, I have not once touched Hanzo or Genji.

Same went for Ken when I used to play SF IV. Simply because everyone else was using him, I didn't like to play as him, instead opting for the characters I liked the most personally.

Usually a characters popularity doesn't sway me either way, but in the case of SF4-Ken it was just too extreme. Didn't want to be another drop in the ocean haha.

I don't do the tier thing that so many gamers do either. Just seems like the most boring and sterile way to approach a game.

Basically I just start out testing characters with visual designs that interest me, from there I narrow it down to the ones I find to be the most fun gameplay wise.

These days I do tend to gravitate towards unorthodox characters though, which are usually less popular. I think Dhalsim is the least used character in SFV, definitely bottom 3. Every time I run into another one online it's like spotting a Sasquatch.

I pick the character that I like the look of the most and then force myself to use them. Also quite like characters that are quick-footed.

There are some cases where I'll use a low-tier character just because it's satisfying to win with them. Like Dan... yes.

Ha, I had a buddy who mastered Dan in USF4, every time I lost to him it felt embarrassing. I was using Akuma who was easily top 3, though sometimes I'd switch to Hugo who was also at the very bottom with Dan.

Most of the mains I pick usually end up at exactly mid tier though, which is cool with me. Not disadvantaged, but can't be accused of being "cheap" either.

Usually my affinity lies solely in design and preference of play first though. :)

Goldeneye 64 ran at 15-20fps and is better than any pc game that you like so go figure.

Ok I did do this with Zangief, but only because they took him from absolutely useless to being really good.

There's bottom tiers which are workable, but then there's trash tier which was season 1 Zangief.

Wow, justice league looks horrible. The CGI looks worse than the CW shows and they're trying too hard to add Marvel style comedy into a series that has only taken itself way too seriously.

Thor actually looks kinda neat but the other Thor movies were meh so we'll see

Yea it was rubbish. Think RLM put it best, "like a little kid trying to imitate his big brother". Was referring to the original trailer btw, whoever chopped that together deserves a pay rise. Even the cooltoon synth trailer is still way way better than DC's piffy attempts. One of Marvels weakest series outshining every car key DC can dangle at the audience.

I miss a game like fight night champion. I loved streetfighter II, but when mortal kombat released I have lost complete interest. Mortal kombat 9 is one of the best fighting games ever made (imo)

The Simpsons Game DS version - From what I saw, it's an impressive looking version. Has voice clips from the actors and animated cutscenes. Just waiting for the game to ship here now.
