Dying Light 2 delayed again. Will be released on February 4, 2022

So yeah Dying Light 2 has been delayed once again. It was supposed to be released this December but Techland is now releasing the game for February 4, 2022. I wonder what's going with this game being delayed over and over again. I hope it doesn't end up like Cyberpunk 2077.

Not surprised, but a bit annoyed as it's the last 2021 game that I highly anticipate and was really excited about. Guess I'll play Kena: Bridge of Spirit, Halo: Infinite, & Forza Horizon 5 as they are my 2021 pick-ups. Now it's got Elden Ring and Horizon: Forbidden West circling it meaning Dying Light 2 should have been moved to April 2021 to avoid competition.

I figured it would happen once MS announced December for Halo

Sometimes it's not always about whether it is ready, a release window that won't have games stealing attention from it is also a strong consideration. And holidays are a COD season, probably big season for sports licenses like NBA2K, Madden and Fifa, and the new Battlefield. Plus Halo and Forza release a good month apart. Probably best to see this pushed back to early 2022 with all that.

6th gen was enlightening in this regard especially after the 2008 holiday line-up. Some good titles just didn't see the sales they were expecting. In late 2009 we saw many titles pushed back into first few months of 2010. The irony here was that seemingly everyone was avoiding a 4th quarter release and the 1st quarter of 2010 was one of the most packed quarters I had ever seen with big releases.

Yeah you guys made some good points here. I guess it was wise for Techland to delay Dying Light 2 so that it doesn't have to compete against the other big games this holiday. Still shocking that it was originally supposed to come out last year so I hope the game will turn out good when it finally does get released.

The previous delays have left me apathetic. I'll play it whenever it's ready.

That still doesn't help Dying Light 2 case when it got moved to February 2022 and that month is already jam-packed! Seriously February 2022, my wallet has already suffered enough😨

Even Elden Ring despite being released on January 21st, 2022 will have competition towards Dying Light 2. I'm all for delays if it improves the game, March 2022 would have been okay IMO.

Besides Destiny 2: The Witch Queen even though it's just another Expansion? Okay, I'll give you credit since Dying Light 2 is the only FPS game for Feb.

Oh boy, BF2042 is rumored to be delayed until 2022... it's Q1 2010 all over again.

I kind of expected this. A lot of games seem to be getting pushed back to early 2022 and a few big name fps games are releasing this holiday season already. It would probably get overshadowed, so it is probably a smart business move for the publisher.

@DeadMan1290: I forgot about Stalker 2. I'm not even sure if I want to bother with that game even though the first one was legit good. All I know is 2022 is gonna be hella busy for all gamers. Hate seeing my wallet get burn but hey, it's a gamer's life after all.

The game looks pretty good to be honest. I mean it'll also be on Game Pass so why not, right? But yeah 2022 will ruin all of us financially lol.
