Dreams release date

Dreams finally has a release date: 14th February, 2020

It's not a game for everyone, but after almost 2k hours spent on beta and early access, i can easily say it's one of the most impressive pieces of software i have ever seen running on a console!

Really hope the community gives this game a chance!

@PAL360: You should try playing games, they're really fun.

I gave it a chance and it was okay what I expected from a creation game. Hope it does well on release day.

Great news. Some folks said this would be a game changer. I look forward to see this dramatic shift in gaming due to this game. ;)

Yeah, i really hope it sells well.

Those who are not interested in the creating feature, should see it as an infinite source of minigames...not as competition to titans like Cyberpunk 2077 or The Last of Us 2.

It's a fantastic and super versatile piece of software, not exactly the next level of mainstream AAA games. Skepticals should try it with open mind.

If it's only half as good as LBP, then you can count me in!!!

@PAL360: Hey, would you say it's pretty easy to jump into? I know absolutely nothing about game making, but this looks like it could be fun. I'd like to try my hand at making a few smaller things. Just wondering if it's pretty user-friendly? Anyway, this looks really intriguing and I have to give Sony props for trying something new.

@Jendeh: It's not easy to do a great game in Dreams, but it's easy to do something we, unexperienced people in game design, would be proud of. Still the most user friendly i have seen, and pretty fun to use. It's also impressive how fast and polished it is!

As for the fact you know nothing about game desigh, i'm (was) in the same boat. I always wanted to create videogames as hobby, but never had the patience to learn programming. Since beta came out, i already released 5 projects...and now trying my luck on a side scrolling beat em up:

Yawn as I rate your trolling -1/10. Why do you get offended when I tell it like it is? this is not a game but a creation tool, while yes you may be able to play these creations but its not a game.

Why would anyone pay good money to play far inferior versions of games like Cuphead, Zelda etc when you can buy the actual games is beyond me.

I hope it sells poorly, maybe then the dev will actually make games instead of selling dev kits instead.

It's clear that Dreams is not a game for you, but it's insane how its simple existence has the power to hit a nerve! Those interested will buy it for multiple reasons. To create and share, to play Mm campaign, or to play any of the (already 500k+) projects available. Most importantly....you are not forced to buy it :o

Again, wanting something that will please so many creative people to fail, just because it's not your cup of tea, is a new level of immaturity!

This is one of those games that gets hated on by people who have no interest in it.

This is a tool that should be free to download and mess around with, not sold to the public as a video game, that's why it needs to fail.

This has nothing to do with whether I like it or not, there has been hundreds of games I don't like but I have never wished them to fail, because at least they are games.

Dreams looks really cool. Can't wait to see what everyone has been creating. It's still going to be VR right?

@uitravioience: Yep. VR support was supposed to come at launch, but the latest trailer didn't mention it. No one knows if it will be delayed or not.

You're problem is that you're emotionally invested in this so you can't be objective, and yet you want to call people arrogant/idiots etc who have a different opinion, maybe look in the mirror buddy.

Secondly its not a game, its game creation tools, and you're tasked with making the content to then try out, or wait for others to do so for you, they should not be sold, but free. Oh and when you create something that you spent weeks/days/hours on are you then allowed to sell it in this "game" I bet you're not, so your work is free.

If these people spent years and funds on this then that's on them, but this will fail anyway and maybe these people will wake up and create an actual video game.

It's bizarre that they're releasing a player-content-driven game at the end of a gen.

It will get no support, and then it will die when the PS5 launches.

Like I said you're way to passionate about these tools, and that's ok, but some of us have to post from a neutral standpoint and post about what this is, game designer tools, not a video game.

@Arkhalipso: Wasn't full PS4 bc already confirmed for PS5? One way or another, at this point i think it's clear that Dreams will be a cross gen game.
