Dragon's Dogma Online is Cross Platform play (PC,PS3/4)

The PlayStation 4 edition of Capcom's upcoming free-to-play role-playing game Dragon's Dogma Onlinewill run at 1080p with a target frame rate of 60fps, it has now been confirmed.

Game director Kent Kinoshita revealed the resolution and frame rate details during a recent event in Tokyo,DualShockers reports. The PlayStation 3 edition of the game, meanwhile, will output at 720p/30fps.

DualShockers points out that, of course, Dragon's Dogma Online--like other PS4 games--can't guarantee 60fps for every scene. In fact, the socially inspired game will accommodate as many as 100 players on screen at once, which will more than likely result in some level of frame rate drop.

Also during the event, it was confirmed that Dragon's Dogma Online will support cross-platform play. PS4, PS3, and PC users will all play together on the same servers.

Announced in January, Dragon's Dogma Online is scheduled to launch in Japan later this year. An open-world game, the title appears to play similar to the original Dragon's Dogma (2012) and its Dark Arisen(2013) expansion. Capcom has not yet announced if Dragon's Dogma Online will be released in the West.

Of course it is. That's the only way Sony could compete with upcoming flood of X1/Win10 cross play titles. Too bad Gigantic and Fable Legends are going to obliterate it into 2 million asymmetrical pieces.

Sadly this will probably stay a Japan only kind of thing, just like Capcom's other games, like Deep Down, and the Monster Hunter MMOs.

That would be assuming they need to compete in that area.

Also, you're assuming that this is in retaliation to the announcement of cross-play, which if you can't see how dumb that is, then I don't know.

yeah, it's a cool game. But it only sold 1.3 million, with 500k of those being in Japan, which means 800k only in the west.

After 2 years. I can't completly fault Crapcom here. It probably sold around 500-600k at launch in the west. Dying Light alone already sold that much on Steam. Not including the console version.

Preaching to the choir bro. There are so many PC gamers that would've purchased the hell out of this game. Till this day, they still mention it on steam forums.

Edit: It's blows my mind that they decided to bring the f2p game to PC, instead of also releasing the original game....... smfh.

I really don't understand the hate, DD was almost set up like it was supposed to have proper online elements with the pawns so as long as they just add the option to exchange pawns for real players I don't see the problem.

DD even had a billion fetch quests like online games have anyway so it's already set up for online play, not to mention dungeons in the expansion.

The FTP bit slightly worries me a bit though, you know damn well they will have pay to unlock quests, pay to unlock items and pay to unlock areas which makes me sad :(, I would rather just pay for the complete experiance at retail price.
