Does Xbox Series X not play nextgen games on external SSD?

So from what I’ve read with the new Seagate 1TB NVME SSD they introduced for $300 (CAD), we can’t play any next gen games on let’s say my current Samsung external drive that I use on my X1S?

Based on this picture from their blog post. I just want to make sure I can play next gen games on my external ssd that I have, that’s my only concern.

Sorry but you have to buy the xbox ssd. Use your ssd on the ps5.

Very simple. You can use a external SSD or HDD to play Xbox BC. You can also off load your Xbox Series games to your external SSD or HDD. Or you can buy the Xbox Series expansion SSD.

Far better then the alternative which doesn’t even have a solution at this time. So at least you can increase storage if you choose.

This has been known since the Series X reveal like 8 months ago.

PS5 has the same rule. You cant play PS5 games from external drive.

If the SSD's are so fast n shit, why would anyone expect games to run from eternal, slower ssd's? Both systems are made around these internal ssd's.
