Simple question. Given the current format, offerings, content, and experience provided by Sony's PSN and Microsofts XBL, does PSN still have "catching up" to do to XBL?

no. many of the features are the same. xbl has a larger library of games which are mostly ports of older gen games. psn has a smaller library but more original content. so it just a matter of taste at this point.
Both are at even odds at this point. But I'm gonna go get my flame shield and say PSN is getting better because of it's dedicated servers and MAG, 256 players is quite a feat for a console.
well i dont believe its superior but its not far behind XBL if they work the kinks out of matchmaking and headset communications maybe a cool new browser... then it will be superior
I'm not exactly knowledged about every single feature xbl has, but the way PSN is right now, I have no complaints. Except if they could improve the latency a bit further more or just add whatever features sony feels like, else I'm still content.
minus small thing like cross game chat which isn't that usefull imo or cross game invite which in spirt can be done on PS3 there isn't much PSN has to "catch up" to. however i do thing that this is were sony can really make a name for PSN. up until a while ago PSN had a blue print on what to do which was primilarly do the majority of what 360 does and do it just as good if not better. now however sony must come up with new ideas to improve PSN
