Does PSN still have "catching up" to do towards XBL?

Simple question. Given the current format, offerings, content, and experience provided by Sony's PSN and Microsofts XBL, does PSN still have "catching up" to do to XBL?

I don't believe it needs 2. I mean besides some useless features, they are about the same exact as much as lemmings and cows want to say otherwise. XBL isn't worth the 60$ for feature like cross game chatting.

no. many of the features are the same. xbl has a larger library of games which are mostly ports of older gen games. psn has a smaller library but more original content. so it just a matter of taste at this point.

Both are at even odds at this point. But I'm gonna go get my flame shield and say PSN is getting better because of it's dedicated servers and MAG, 256 players is quite a feat for a console.

well i dont believe its superior but its not far behind XBL if they work the kinks out of matchmaking and headset communications maybe a cool new browser... then it will be superior

Well, I'm not choosing the first one, since XBL is not superior in EVERY WAY.... but I'm not choosing the second one, since they clearly aren't equal. lol And funny. I just made a topic on this, and it's dead now. :?

I'm not exactly knowledged about every single feature xbl has, but the way PSN is right now, I have no complaints. Except if they could improve the latency a bit further more or just add whatever features sony feels like, else I'm still content.

XBox Live is not EVEN "better in every way". they are both about the same as far as features and what they have to offer for games/etc. Live has a few features PSN doesn't , and the PSN has a few features Live doesn't. But I think the fact that the PSN is completely free plays in Sony's favor quite heavily. They are both great services though, and I think it would take a pretty closed-minded individual to say that the PSN is inferior in "every way".

minus small thing like cross game chat which isn't that usefull imo or cross game invite which in spirt can be done on PS3 there isn't much PSN has to "catch up" to. however i do thing that this is were sony can really make a name for PSN. up until a while ago PSN had a blue print on what to do which was primilarly do the majority of what 360 does and do it just as good if not better. now however sony must come up with new ideas to improve PSN

Once PSN finally gets Cross game chat and party chat all debate will become pointless

Yea, these are basically the only things missing from PSN.

The PSN Store needs a lot of work. There isn't enough downloadable games.

I'd definitely say that XBLA has done better than PSN.

I'd be very happy with a proper chatfunction. Cross-game, private, party...all that stuff.

All I care is that I can play video games online, so no need to catch up to anything.
