Theres no reason for me to pay for PSPlus when i do my online gaming on the XOne with the superior controller. The 'free' games are just icing on the cake. I wouldn't pay for a service just to get them.

I pay for both to get the most out of both consoles.

Stopped paying for Plus when i changed to PC and got better deals and online. Since i don' have an xbox, i pay for neither.

This is why you need 3rd Party Service on each console, like Steam.

Don't have a PS3 or PS4, and I wouldn't pay for PS Plus anyway. I certainly don't pay for Xbox Live Gold. Just another way for them to suck a little extra money out of you. I hate paying for games and having content locked off because I didn't give them even more money. And why the hell do I need to pay for gold just to be able to play a "free-to-play" game?

I payed for one year of XBLG back in the day. Never paid for online since. Its a rip off.

Just PS+. Microsoft give away a month trial on the dashboard so often that it's not really necessary to pay. Been on gold without paying for 3 months now.

Yep that's a neat trick: have a cc on file ( I store an expired one) then activate the free month, go to xbox.com and turn off auto renewal, rinse and repeat.

This month marks 16 free PS+ games released on PS4 since Nov 2013 launch.

This month marks 6 free GwG games released on Xbone since Nov 2013 launch.

I only pay for a Xbox live Gold so I hope Sony keeps rolling out the single player experiences like Infamous SS :-)

I used to just pay for Gold, then when Sony made it mandatory, I now pay for PS+ too. I forget that soon (November) I will owe Sony another $50.

Yes, i own a 360. i bought it used off ebay for dirt cheap. i only wanted it to play the Halo and Gears of war games.

I do and don't. My family members have been very supportive of me returning from active duty to use my GI bill and one bought me a year live card. I paid for psn+ myself. Admittedly it isn't blowing my mind as my gaming time is PC, ps3, X1 at this point because of school. Still, I have spent more in a night at a bar NOT getting anywhere with a woman. As you get older you accept, A. Its not coming with you; B. women take most of it from u one way or another (unless u prefer same sex, then they do it to you I guess).

I do I don't mind. Might not renew xbl if I don't find anything great after halo mcc and I bore of it.

That's it, the money would go on something else and be gone really fast, drinks on the weekend, a few dvd's or Blu-rays, food. So these services for a whole year cost nothing.

I don't pay for either service. I'd rather use that money for something else, since I mainly game for SP experience. The only time I game mp is in games like Madden, Mario Kart, and fighting games, but I much prefer to play those with friends who come over to hang out rather than with strangers I don't even know.

I can still play for free on PS3 so I don't pay for anything.

@sailor232: I find these online subscriptions also get me games that I would never have rationalized buying on my own. I used to hate online subscriptions the way Microsoft did them, but Sony changed the whole playbook with PS Plus and now even Microsoft is providing a good deal on free games. It really gets even better if you don't give away or trade in your old systems. If you own all 5 Plus/Gold systems, you get an incredible number of games each month. These services help me concentrate on only buying the games I look forward to the most (mostly AAAs).

Eventually I will. MC Collection will do me in, but I have a fistful of 3-month trials to tide me over until a deal pops up for 1- year XBLG at $20-$30. There's always deals at that price for both PS+ and XBLG during Black Friday (I bought 2 years of PS+ for $50 last year).

I only pay for Xbox Live.

PlayStation consoles, going all the way back to PS1, have always just offered me mostly great single player experiences, but haven't ever had many great multiplayer games and there is nothing on the horizon for PS4 that looks to change that anytime soon. Xbox consoles, on the other hand, have always been very multiplayer focused. Plus Xbox Live is simply a better online service and all of my friends are on Xbox Live, so Xbox Live is worth every penny and I don't plan to ever stop subscribing to it.

I don't care about the game rentals, so for me to ever subscribe to PS Plus in addition to Xbox Live, Sony would have to release a couple of really awesome online multiplayer games that are exclusive to PS4 and it doesn't look like that is happening anytime soon.

I begrudgingly pay for both since they are mandatory for online play. The money isn't a big deal really, its the principle of the matter that just irks me to no end. Sony had the right idea last gen: Keep online gaming free and charge for all the other extra stuff. Now we're paying for both. They probably did this after seeing how many people were willing to drop money into XBL.

Yep, both... Haven't even turned my X1 on for a couple months... not saying PS4 is better.... what games are free for X1? I'm still waiting for some good games from BOTH SONY and Microsoft. I think the wait is about over though.

While online gaming was free on the PS3, look at how much it sucked compared to Xbox Live. If keeping online gaming free was the right idea then why was it the service with the mandatory fee that made online gaming mainstream and was more popular than the free online services on PS3 and Wii?

You get what you pay for. You can get a free meal from the dumpster in the alley or you can pay for a quality meal in a nice resaturant; I'd rather pay for quality. I like having a mandatory fee for online play because it forces them to deliver a high quality service in order to keep people subscribed. I will gladly choose having to pay for a quality online service over having a crappy free online service like on the PS3 and Wii.

Probably try single player first....maybe donate a little time and money to Sony.

Neither. With PC as my primary gaming platform, the only thing i need to pay for my online multiplayer is the ISP.

I used to pay for both PS+ and XBL (360).. But i haven't used my 360 for nearly a year now and therefore didn't renew my subscription.. The past months have only been paying for PS+
