Poll Does anyone even care about Death Stranding 2? (80 votes)

Yes 39%
No 49%
If i work for Fedex, i expect to be paid 13%

The game was officially announced, but it seems to me like nobody gives a crap? And i am not just referring to SW, but all over the place. Nobody is talking about it, and the views/interest on youtube seems pretty low for a Kojima game.

Definitely. Enjoyed the first one a lot. Can see plenty of room to explore that type gameplay while making some pretty basic improvements to the standard combat/stealth play. Really just hope they double down on the navigating harsh elements aspect and the asynchronous multiplayer systems.

But yeah. Liked the first game. And if MGS series is anything to go by, Kojima never puts out a samey sequel. For better or worse, always huge changes from game to game.

@pc_rocks: 😂

What can I say man, enjoyed it.

I get there's a lot of auto hate for Kojima. I don't care for a lot of his games myself.

But I enjoyed this game for what it is, on it's own merits. And I also appreciate that it's basically a fucking unicorn in the AAA space. Making a wild ass experimental indie game on a AAA budget? Nobody is doing that lol.

@kathaariancode:

Yeah I checked out on the story early on. Seemed like typical Kojima, but I didn't have the same investment I had with MGS.

Thinking of doing a third run though, might just sit through the story this time.

"Princess Beach", can't wait. 🤢

introduce mgsv-level stealth mechanics as a first class citizen in the core of the game and ds2 could be something very special. toning down the bat shit crazy wouldn't hurt as well, so you don't sound like a lunatic when you tell others you like the game and try to explain the premise

Yep, the first one was really good. It did look crappy from the gameplay videos id seen but I got it gifted to me on Steam because I was like most people saying its shit before actually playing it myself. Needless to say, I couldnt stop playing it. It is different, much more fun than you expect it to be and the story really comes together nicely at the end. I am very much looking forward to DS2, more so than most upcoming games.

Personally no, but I haven't even tried thr first game, so maybe I would change my mind after playing it... dunno. Mine downloaded it several times but never seem to get around to actually playing it.

About the same I got it free with my last gpu. Talked a lot of shit then it became my favorite game last gen. Not a gif game, one of them you have to play for yourself to see.

Its not often but, sometimes I like to kick back with a controller and enjoy a more cinematic game. I almost always end up being a bit underwhelmed by cinematic games overall but DS exceeded my expectations, and then some.

Honestly, give it a try Ghost, its something a little different. Get the free version you have nothing to lose, and if you do end up liking it, buy it for the online features.

@ConanTheStoner: The thing is that it's so bad that's entertaining. Particularly towards the end, so corny. Lmao

One thing I hope is that the game leans more on horror. There's a few brilliant moments on DS that gets really tense.

I do recall some of the end stretch goofy shit with Higgs and Amelie lol.

Yeah the horror element worked really well at times. Always interesting hearing what people want from a follow up. So many facets to the game, so many different takeaways and directions it could go.

Good thing about old Kojimbo, whatever the case, will probably be unexpected.

Looking forward to it. This time around, no fuss of establishing a new studio, learning a new engine. Expecting a lot more from this project.

interesting to see the complete 180° for the stereotypical hardcore pc gamers in the last year or two, led by visionaries like ghost. at one time, playing a niche, non-mainstream out-there title like death stranding would be something a hardcore pc gamer would proudly wear like a badge of honour, now they quickly dismiss it and instead unashamedly herald spiderman as their game of the year. the times they are a-changing

Once people get over their hate-boners for Kojima, it's a lot easier to see that Death Stranding is a solid and crazily unique game. The idea of a sequel is very intriguing.

Never got around to playing the first one even though I'm fairly intrigued by it. From what I've seen, it seems like an interesting game to chill and unwind with, while also enjoying the Kojima weirdness.

Depending on whether I actually like it, I might be up for the sequel.

The original was a good game, not perfect by any means. But I am little bit surprised that Kojima wants to continue it. I guess it sold enough and hence, people care about it 😎

Here's where I sit with death stranding...

It definitely didn't stand out to me as a full priced game... I wrote it off waiting for a sale to entice me. I feel like at this point it would be a nice fit on my steam deck and I'm open to trying it out. It's very possible my preconceived bias isn't correct and I'm missing something that would resonate with me. That said, I'm eyeing 9.99 as my entry point.... It's hit 19.99 but I've got a ton of games at the price ahead of death stranding I'm looking to pick up. Deathloop for example. I just snagged it along with for a horizon 4.... Both are far more enticing to me than DS.

@mysticaldonut: knack appeals to an audience those other games don't. Kojima games get sequels because it's marketable for the Playstation brand to have his weird games no matter how wtf they are....

Kojima's an acquired taste for better and for worse.

His games aren't going to sell 10s of millions of copies but, it'll end up nominated for lots of awards.

Nope. And I wish Kojima would stop with this weird franchise as it looks very dull. I miss the old days of MGS and each new game being a fun stealth adventure. Death Stranding looks utterly boring to me. Such a shame what happened with Konami and him.

Knack was Cerny's pet project and, it's an extremely low budget game.

Death Stranding was profitable and, it's a Kojima game; Sony isn't going to say no to Kojima.

Days Gone ... the general belief is that both Sony and, Bend had moved onto another project by the time Days Gone hit its stride (PS5 + PC release). The main folks behind the IP had already left as well.

The Order 1886 ... I think it comes down to two reasons. 1) it cost a lot and didn't sell very well and 2) Santa Monica Studio's external development team (who co-developed the game) was severely gutted when their new IP was cancelled which meant PlayStation would have had to double down on Ready at Dawn (very risky) or walk away from the IP.

I own the first game. It seems interesting enough. I get a lot of Metal Gear Solid vibes from the gameplay. However, after collecting that little baby thing, I haven't gone back to it.

Games I'll probably never return to: Death Stranding, Days Gone, Witcher 3, etc.

While true, Facebook acquired them 5 years after The Order 1886. Sony could have locked them into a contractual agreement well before then.

Kinda feel the same way about this as the first. It doesn't look like something I will ever play, but I'm glad it exists. It's good to know there is at least one game director out there with enough credibility to get AAA budgets for bat-shit crazy ideas.

I'm for it. I don't really care where the story goes, it's too nonsensical to be hyped for story development. But the gameplay? Delicious.
