To answer the question.- Yes , if holiday 2019 is soon. 6 years between gens is fine. I'm not a big specs guy either ( Affordability should win) , but I'd like to see what Guerrilla Games , Santa Monica , and company can do by moving on to bigger challenges with better hardware.Ghost of Tsushima and TLOU Part II can close down this gen in style like Sony did last gen with PS3.

It will also give Sony a big leg up in the console war (insuring massive 3rd party support , and to be price competitive)

While I will very likely be getting a PS4 this year I’d be fine with a PS5 coming out in 2019 myself. I probably wouldn’t get the PS5 right away anyway so I’d use that time to get the few games that I want to play on the PS4.

Release it as soon as possible and keep selling the PS4 for a few years after the PS5 launches like Sony has done with all its consoles. I want the PS5 before 2020. This year or 2019. I doubt we'll get in 2018 though.

No point. There won't be a big enough difference in graphics over the Pro. Any console launched even in 2020 would be 4k 60fps tops, which is nearly where we are now.

I always welcome better hardware. The PS5 can't release soon enough. Hopefully this time it releases with the Pro edition at the same time. So poor people get the usual small upgrade and for twice the price you get an actual decent console.

No. And if the rumor is true that you won't be able to play PS4 games on it...that would be unfortunate and a grave error in judgement. If they try to push PS Now in place of BC on PS5, I might skip it.

I personally think it was an okay console before the existing Pro, it's the games that I enjoy and the Pro itself just came way too early.

Nobody would force you to buy the PS5 if it releases tomorrow. There will always be stuff to do on old gens when a new one releases.

Two thoughts:

1. Watch that m'fer live to be 110 and we all have to sit around with our collective thumbs up our asses having passed on the most popular and understandable and trustworthy politician of our time because we were scared he was "too old." No. Just built a pretty strong PC last year and im perfectly fine with launch ps4. PS4 Pro is decent enough upgrade for the time being. It's ultimately up to the games at this point so if they continue to release high quality titles, ill be happy. Too early for REAL 4K gaming on console and yes, that includes the one X

2019 would be ideal but from hardware perspective i think 2020 makes more sense. That was my original prediction a year ago based on when new CPU/GPU are coming.

I prefer a next level hardware than PRO 2 if you get what i mean.
