If so, which one? I have the official PS5 one from launch but am open to getting a new one if it’s better. I find headphones to be helpful in certain games like Rainbow Six Siege.

Not typically. I share a wall with my neighbour, so i'll do so if my soundbar/bass is too loud.

Yep, I use an Astro A50 headset, found a decent sale on it around a couple years ago. I recommend but not at the price I'm currently seeing (299.00)

I use headphones all the damn time on my PC. I don't have any speakers and I prefer using headphones anyway. Yes I also use them on my consoles when nobody is watching me playing games.

100% of the time. I usually play at night, and even if i wanted to use speakers, i couldn't. And the last 5.1 set up i had like 10 years ago, i just couldn't use it for long. Two to three hours with speakers and i just can't handle it anymore, its tiresome, but with headphones i can do a whole day of playing whatever and its all good.

Began with the sennheiser hd555 in early 2000's, then the hd558, 589se, hd58x jubilee, akg k712pro and now the sennheiser hd560s, a pair of headphones sealionact knows too damn well at this point.😁

I've had a surround sound setup for over 15 years. It was incredible then and it's still incredible now with infrequent upgrades here and there. I can't comprehend how people just settle for soundbars or keeping cans on their head all day long. It's also sad that 3D audio is touted as this new thing when I was hearing bullets whizzing past my head in 2008.

I did for Hellblade, and it was awful having some nonsense blathering in your ear the whole game. Sorry schizophrenics, I don't wanna be you.

And I did for Murdered Soul Suspect, which was creepy and cool 😎

Stuff like this is neat with some good cans.

Yeah I used to have a set of Sennheiser I really liked. Then I got into headphones for music and got a DAC and headphone amp and some Fostex "studio" headphones. They're really great for gaming.

But now I just use some Arctis 7 headset and it's pretty good. Good mic and wireless.

For some games it is downright necessary to use headphones. Also I work nights so when I get home I don't want my speakers blasting to wake up my roommates.

Not at the moment as I listen to music on my computer while playing a game, but I would like to for games like Rainbow Six Siege, Destiny 2 and such because of the communication aspect. I'm sure that will help when playing these types of games.

YUP. Bose QuietComfort® 45 headphones

I listen to alot of music while I game. Play alot of MP with buds. I love those headphones. Unfortunately they are BT and only work with my PC and switch.

PS4 and SX I've got a wired turtle beach set

I tend to play late after work and not trying to piss off my fiance if she's sleeping.

Half the time. I used to plug in earbuds but now use the PS5 headset. Sometimes for chat and other times to enjoy the story and the atmospheric sounds.

The rest of the time I'm either listening to podcasts or using the TV speakers.

Nope, I use a soundbar with subs on the side. I find the PS5 headset to be pretty uncomfortable and the button placements are the worst.

90% of the time I'm using an Onkyo 5.1 surround system because there's nothing like true surround sound in terms of audio immersion.

My fall back is a pair of Hifiman Sundara headphones. Open back headphones are the only thing that can come close to the surround sound feel and "gaming" headphones have terrible soundstage and imaging.

Always. I live in a small downtown apartment, so I try to use my KEF/B&W surround system as little as possible. Just for 1-2 movies a week (and obviously TV, youtube, netflix etc).

for gaming I use Beyerdynamic headphones.

Sounds better anyways.

I rested mines on the ps5 when the system is placed vertically. The PS5 even looks like a stand for headphones😆

Yup, whenever I PC game. I'm always in Discord chatting with friends.

HyperX Cloud Revolver S

Love em. They're a little big for my tiny head, but I was able to fix that by doing this:

I've had them for 4 years now. I've replaced the earpads once. Thinking about getting velour ones.

@Naylord: Absolutely this. Had a 5.1 setup since 1997, so hearing about this “amazing 3D” sound in headsets makes me giggle.

I only use a headset at night when the family is sleeping, and I need a mic for mp - so unlike Hardwenzen I have choices.

Spending silly amounts of cash on an “audiophile” headset without a mic seems pointless to someone who has an Atmos setup, but if your budget or space limitations don’t allow for good sound then I suppose a headset is the next best thing….

I love headphones. It's comfy and private and has a guaranteed level in sound quality

But they keep falling apart in my hands, and I can't keep spending money replacing them every couple of years. So I switched to a soundbar a while back.

Yes, I used to do a lot of competitive/tourney gaming when I was younger which made me get used to headphones. I find it hard to be comfortable playing games without headphnes now.

I've contemplated it. I'm sure it would help with games like Alien: Isolation, but then I'm like, I'll just turn the TV down so as to not disturb my neighbor. Plus it costs money, and I'm not really wanting to spend money on an item I may or may not use.

I use RTings reviews and they have an extensive list of almost all headphones and they tested the imaging and the K12s we're near the top in soundstage and imaging so I really wanted to like them. The Sundaras we're a step below.

From their testing, gaming headphones are usually the worst in both with a few exceptions.

The way rtings measures soundstage and other features doesn't always translate well to actual usage. They didn't give the soundstage a very big score, but the K712pro, as you will hear from any audiophile forums or video reviews, is one of the headphones with the biggest soundstage you can buy. I sold mine because i too wasn't too hot on the flimsiness and found the elastic holding the headband to be a pretty dumb system (elastics lose their elasticity and then it doesn't hold shit). The big difference between my sennheiser hd560s and the k712pro that i had for about a year is that the directional sound/imaging is so much clearer on the hd560s.

No,yet. Thinking about getting one eventually, living in a apartment with a noisy highway right outside my apartment back door is a really pain. I normally get home from work around 11pm and if I want to play some Xbox I have to really turn up the volume. During the day it’s noisy af all the time. Don’t know too much about gaming earphones, going to have to do my homework on it.
