Doubtful. Showing up at a studio and playing their game is a far cry from the studio making you an exclusive. But who knows.

Given how badly beaten MS is getting at the moment it's possible that they will try to buy all of Japan. Anything to get ahead.

To be fair MS have definitely tried to get more japanese games on the platform but getting an exclusive is a tough task without huge money changing hands.

Nah. The game is on multiple systems, and no doubt people from all parties were invited to try. I'd take solace in the fact that Miyazaki is aiming to give everyone, what could be, an excellent game.

Doesn't matter because it will be on pc. I'd be triggered as hell if this was only available on the Xbox, but since Xbox has zero exclusives, i wouldn't mind getting it on pc instead of the ps5.

I imagine From Software would be interested in MS offers. I mean as per some exclusives, xbox is okay with games releasing on PC on dev own terms (Steam, GOG, whatever else) as long as they don't do PlayStation for a time. Its good money and PC is probably the biggest platform for souls games anyway.

Don't care about exclusive but wouldn't mind trying if it were to be day 1 on Gamepass. Wouldn't be surprised if MS has some deals in the works for this.

Yeah its a third person shooter, and yet people compare it to the hack n slash games in Dark Souls, i didn't know Dark Souls games were third person shooters.

You: "It got guns. Guns are good. Guns not like Dark Souls. Guns better than hacky slashy Souls."

Reality: RFTA has the equivalent of bonfire and estus, eschewing health regen. Resting restores ammo, respawns enemies, etc. Upgrading weapons takes iron instead of Souls titanite; get a weapon to +5, and then forged iron instead of Souls large titanite, taking you to +10, etc. RFTA has dodging and stamina all but identical to implementation in Souls, working in shooter mechanics. Bosses have complex (sort of) move sets and varied mechanics extremely similar to Souls formula, with a bunch of addies thrown in. Classes merely determine starting gear. Fog doors, dark mythological type atmosphere, lore told through items, and on and on. But it's much easier than Souls. Basically, it's Souls with guns, a bit of Diablo mixed in, and on basic easy/moderate mode.

I wonder how many people talking up Demon's Souls actually do so because it's legitimately a fantastic game... or because it's a PS5 launch title. I've played Dark Souls, played Bloodborne, even Sekiro. Out of all of them, story is next to non existent, and gameplay is identical. I don't really see the appeal. I certainly wouldn't care much if they never released another one on PC.

The stories in Souls games are actually rich and extensive. They're just not told in a traditional format. The items tell the stories, as well as visual cues/scenery/etc.

Sure, if you have the time and patients to play through the game or read online where I am sure is the only place a vast majority of the lore exists. But in the games themselves, you just get tossed in, follow a linear progression through levels with very little information as to what is happening or why. I find it incredibly boring. The combat is entertaining for a little bit, but then it gets repetitive and suffers from a lot of issues like when you go to roll one direction but the camera shifts in the progress of your action and you go a different.

There's just not enough diversity in game play, nor is there an interesting story that I don't have to dig obscure parts of the internet to find, to keep me entertained. I just don't think they're as good as some people have convinced themselves they are. It's one of those things a lot of people say they like because they feel they're supposed to, and I simply do not.

Bloodborne has a story that is very easily connected if you actually pay attention to the cutscenes and character interactions. Souls game though just bullshit. I to this day have no idea how the fk souls players cry when they meet certain boss, the stories in souls game is so obsecure and you only piece things together after you actually beat them.

The story is occult, which essentially means "hidden". Occult symbolism is difficult, and often impossible for uninitiated to decipher. But make no mistake, Souls games have deep stories.

Just because a game may have similarities doesn't make it a knock off, and Remnant will always be a better game because it has gunplay.

I mean to think Dark Souls is a better game one would have to be some sort of subspecies, but you are "lost in space" so you could very well be lol.

Not saying RFTA is a bad game. I don't even have much experience with it. Everything about the similarities I picked up off reddit, and watching gameplay. It's obvious that it wears its Souls influence on its sleeve. As for guns, well, if you dig that then it's good for you. I like guns too, but I love good melee as well. And what the hell does being lost in space have to do with Dark Souls?
