Poll Do you think the XBOX SERIES S would sell more than 20 millions? (45 votes)

Yes 42%
No 33%
Maybe 24%
I hope not! (say why on the comment) 0%

I don't know about the opinions of the majority of gamers! but for me, there's nothing interesting about it! I don't feel anything about this console! unlike the x which is great! I like it even though there's still no interesting announcement! yet there's something interesting about it that makes me want to own it one day!

What do you think about the s future?

Price will be a big-driving factor for families with younger kids, people who game so-so, or people without the latest TVs, or people feeling the hurt from the pandemic. Over 20 mil? Not too sure, but I think the system will surprise people with sales.

In short, not too sure, but I wouldn't be overly shocked.

"20 million" would be the proper way to phrase that sentence. "20 millions" doesn't really make sense. If you wanted to use the plural version it would be, "Will the S sell millions?"

To answer your question, it's possible they might reach that number, but doubtful. I expect the S to be discontinued in a year or at least when the mid-gen refresh systems release.

100% yes. It’s directly aiming at the casual market which, btw, is the biggest gaming market out there.

It’ll probably win this holiday or play second to Switch which seems to still have momentum.

At least in North America.

Series S will become more and more irrelevant for customers as time goes on when more and more people buy 4k (and up) TVs. At the same time it will potentially hinder development on the Xbox Series platform during its entire lifetime. Even PS5 multi platform games could suffer, (making Sony exclusives stand out all the more).

The Xbox series platform will be harder to optimize for with 2 different power levels, giving 3rd parties a small but consistent incentive to maybe not bother making some of their games for the platform at all.

I think the Series S will sell maybe 10 million.

@Telekill:

Thank you for correcting me.

I'm also thought that they will discontinue it in the mid generation!

If the reports are true that PS5 digital were only 1% of all the PS5's sold. This $299 Series S is gonna be scarce. Retailers don't want stock digital only consoles and Microsoft might be losing money on it so they will keep supply lower and not piss off physical retailers who want a cut on game sales.

Probably, only because of the S. Xbox pretty much made themselves the bargain console maker with this move. It's the Christmas present thrifty people will buy for their kids.

So why did you even ask a question or put up a poll if your mind was already made up about it? Was it just to lure people in so you could piss and moan about Xbox?

Why would anyone buy a Xbox series S when the digital PS5 model is identical in power to the standard version? Be best to pay out the extra for the Xbox series X.

Nope. I predict SeriesS won't even sell 1/4 of SeriesX.

I doubt it'll sell a million. 14 in Japan. Possibly the most pointless console ever made.

I think people might be surprised at how poorly the Series S might sell, even compared to the Series X. The S makes rational sense, yes, but humans are not rational animals. Instead, they are constantly driven by the desire to be part of an event, to meet certain social standards and expectations, and to have shiny new toys to show off. It's why couples often go into thousands of dollars in debt they'll have to repay for the rest of their lives just to have the "perfect wedding."

Do not underestimate human ability to spend frivolously for social and personal prestige, especially in this age of credit cards and PayPal and such continuing to devalue the concept of money.

I am sure it will that is why they have the cripple series S for to help those sales.
