Do you think Sony is holding their heavy hitters for the PS5?

I'm talking about games like Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Guerillas next game, etc. Considering that I'm certain the PS5 will be backwards compatible with PS4 games, I think it would make sense to hold back until Sony launches the system. Do you agree, SW?

That sounds about right. Anything that was already in PS4 development are the only one's looking forward to such as Days Gone, The Last of Us 2, & Death Stranding cause those heavy hitters were already in-development for PS4 hardware. Anything that has yet to be officially announce would already be target for PS5 such as God of War 5 as an example.

I wouldn't mind next gen getting some initial great games. I will only get a PS5 in its beginning 2 years if it is BC.

Those games are defInitely coming to PS4.

I expect the next infamous, gran turismo, god of War, littlebigplanet, horizon and Spider-Man to all be on PS5 though.

Define heavy hitter, cause I think the games they've announced for PS4 are heavy hitters.

Clearly they aren't gonna announce games slated for post PS5 launch.

Sony is preparing megatons to be dropped. The very fabric of time will be altered.

They are not going to hold back any of the announced games.

The games you listed will come out on PS4. Most likely will have a PS5 version also.

Guerrila will most likely have a Killzone game for PS5 launch with all the talk of them expanding their studio. Horizon 2 will be a PS5 game and come later.

Don't see much point in doing that if the PS5 is backwards compatible, which I expect it to be. It won't be like this gen, when people bought remasters of games they had never played.

They must be happy with their current sales and makes sense to start next gen as strong as possible.

Not sure. All I know is guerilla and santa Monica are free to start a new game that fir sure will be ps5. Plus they could launch ps5 with gt7.

Last of us will made it to 2019 but I think they gonna use death stranding as a launch title. Horizon 2 within first year and some smaller Japan studios game alongside a From Software exclusive.

Sony seems to keep the trend of ignoring multiplayer exclusives or anything of quality so I’ll most likely ignore the ps5 as well.

Shame too - this is the company that let Socom die. One of the bigger online multiplayer games of the ps2.

When I really think about it, Sony supported the PS Vita right out of the gate, but then stopped once the system was out. A short while later the PS4 came out.

I think Sony abandoned one system for the bigger money-maker. It makes sense that they'd do it again. Once everyone owns a PS4 and things start to slow, time to give people a new thing to buy.

PS4 pro: 30fps

PS5: 60fps

No idea, but Assassin's Creed Unity ran at something like 24fps on average for both base Xbox and base PS4, citing that Peter Jackson's The Hobbit movie 'didn't feel right' at 48fps.

If not for PS5 I'm sure they are keeping them for the last year of PS4 so they can launch cross gen version for PS5 right after the way TLOU did.

They're better off releasing them now and then re-releasing them later on PS5 at a higher resolution / frame rate etc.

It really looks that way. A new ps4 exclusive announcement has really been a while and even if we get all the announced exclusives this year The Last of Us Part 2 will have to really deliver for this year to be even a little comparable to last year.

PS5 will come with a pillow.

Didn't they say a while back all ununounced games are PS5, I'd assume all announced games are not or will be ported.

I really don't think adding any exclusives to their line-up will make any difference in their market advantage this generation, probably better they be prepared to hit the ground running next gen.

I guess all of TLOU2, Tsushima, and Death Stranding will launch on Ps4. After them everything will be Ps5 exclusively? All three will of course re-release on Ps5.
