Do you think 2021 will be a great year for exclusives overall like 2017 (or 2020) was?

Just a light thread. High profile exclusives slated for 2021 -

Seems like a great lineup for tentpole exclusive franchises coming this year. May even rivals 2017 releases. For comparison:-

In 2017

• PS - Yakuza 0, Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nier Automata, Nioh, Gravity Rush 2, Dragon Quest XI, Nex Machina, FFXII Zodiac Age, Guilty Gear Xrd 2nd Rev, Uncharted: Lost Legacy, GT Sport.
• Nintendo - Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Arms, Xenoblade Chronicles 2(blergh pedo game), Mario Kart port, Splatoon 2.
• Xbox - idk they watch Netflix or something.

A bit early to say but BoTW 2 alone would make my year, looking forward to GoWR and Halo as well.

Yes, not to mention Ratchet&Clank, The Medium, Returnal and a few other surprises.

It is going to be a slow year considering it is the beginning of a new Console generation. The start of last Console generation was pretty boring from memory.

at least one of god of war and horizon forbidden west will be delayed till 2022..they are the only decent games sony have in the pipeline so they wont drop in the same year,and they will both be available on ps4, not the generations exclusives sony promised

By "exclusives", I assume you mean "timed exclusives" and "multiplats", right?

I mean, Yakuza 0 came out on the PS3 in 2015, Persona 5 came out on the PS3 in 2016, Nier Automata, Nioh, Nex Machina and Guilty Gear were multiplats in 2017, Dragon Quest 11 was originally announced for the PS4, 3DS and Switch (although the latter was delayed), and some of the rest later turned up on other platforms.

Seems like a weird list to hold up as the poster boy of exclusive lineups.

@Planeforger: sure, its *exclusives in 2017 and for western release. Zelda, Mario Kart not exclusive either but, I am not nitpicking.

If Sony really releases R&C, Horizon, God of War, and Gran Turismo in 2021, lems would be rekt to oblivion!

Age of Empires IV is the only exclusive I need.

It sounds like it's a good year for Playstation. I'm betting Ragnarok gets pushed to 2022.

Zelda BotW 2 isn't confirmed for 2021 but we can hope.

I'm betting Halo gets delayed a few more months into 2022.

GoW will be delayed. BoTW won't be released on the Switch. Who cares when Halo Infinite comes out 😂

I play games because I want to play them not because they are exclusive. 😎

Exclusive or not, if its a game that catches my fancy, I'll do whatever it takes to play it on.

Yeah it’s looking to be a pretty solid year on that front. Some games that I’m hyped for are:

- Halo: Infinite

- Forza Horizon 5

- Breath of the Wild 2

- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

- Monster Hunter Rise

- Bravely Default 2

- Ratchet & Clank: Rifted Apart

- Horizon Zero Dawn 2

- God of War: Ragnarok

Nintendo has a habit of announcing things close to release so I’m thinking that there’ll be some good stuff dropping later in the year.

Well none of the Sony games will make it in 2021 but even if all of them did, Nintendo will easily be able to brush it all aside with BOTW2. No one will remember anything apart from BOTW2 and cows will create countless threads to remind people of that, while calling BOTW 2 mediocre.

Last year was great for gaming.

Can't say anything on the radar now terribly excites me.

I really do wonder what will be coming out for Xbox this year lol. I'm not even confident Halo will be out next holiday.

IF MS release the rumoured Forza Horizon 5 rumoured to be set in Japan, then it will be a big year.

for the ps5 yes, but for the xbsex, it most likely will be another year of flops.

Ratchet and Clank for Ps5 and No More Heroes 3 and Bravely Default 2 for Switch, so yes it is already looking like it is going to be a great year!

IKR, Halo Infinite is lame, had to include it cause some people somehow still plays Halo. Eww.

Well out of the games you listed Halo has the most replayability with MP for people to play, Sony's games, well one & done, then wait another 5yrs for a sequel that will be one & done again, but keep paying for that PS+ because you may need it one day lol.

Oh did you change Ragnarok to PS4 also, damn so many PS5 games being held back by the PS4, what a shame.
