I get everything is game by game basis, so asking what RPGs you played on what platform, and why you made that choice. Any Pros/Cons.

I've read of notable lag playing some MMO's on console. Console also seems to lack mod support and keyboard and mouse. For all these reasons I've had little incentive to play games on console. The X/Pro now have enhanced copies of games, some can run up to 60fps, so things have changed in that regard, but not sure if that is enough. Only thing I can't really figure out is where most users play, but I don't think that is as big of issue for popular games.

General Factors:

  1. Where the bros and hoes at
  2. Platinum vs 1000 vs Steam Cards
  3. Price
  4. Graphics
  5. Frames
  6. Favorite Input Option
  7. Censorship
  8. Desk vs Couch
  9. TV vs Monitor
  10. Which makes you feel good and cool

Seems like biggest factors for RPG:

  1. Mod support/Control of content (SP)
  2. User Base/Number of active users online (MP)
  3. Are those users cool (MP)
  4. Performance and Power
  5. Key & Mouse vs Controller
  6. Lag (MP)

I've always just played MMOs and WRPGS on Windows. I did get into JRPGs on PS1/PS2 and did play a few on PS4. I did play FFXI, Morrowind and FO3 on Xbox/360, but that was ages ago and haven't done any like that this gen outside playing on those save files. Everything else has been PC, going back to isometric days.

My problem is mostly overthinking everything, just choosing need help figuring out where I should play stuff like Witcher 3, Elder Scrolls Online, Divinity 2, and Dragon Age on PC, X or PS4? Easy choice would just opt for PC for everything, but I already got access to many RPGs through Gold and Game Pass so they will make choice easier, EA Access does as well, but if I'm gonna spend $20 to buy Witcher 3 or invest $40 in Elder Scrolls Online Expansions, feels like I should just pick up on PC.

I play everything on PC unless it's exclusive to a console or if I got it free on console.

I use to be like that, playing everything on PC, and had Xbox for console stuff like GTAV/Lego Dimensions. With the X and Game Pass, I just play whatever it has, but have slipped buying small things on it, mostly used at GS or Redbox. I just haven't gone full peasant buying big new games. Buying Witcher 3 on X/Pro would be full retard, and not sure I'm ready or willing.

Can I play everything on PC without being ELITE? Chances are it can't be helped, I did just buy a new Ryzen 5 during black friday, so by next weekend will be having super kick parties even if I keep playing ESO off Game Pass.

Gaming JRPG on playstation just felt right. I don't know just how it works but those games just where its supposed to be since ps1 days in my opinion.

Other than that yeah PC is where its at. I can't imagine playing Fallout 3, Fallout NV and Diablo 2 on consoles.

PC.

They look/run quite a bit better on PC. And lot of those are simply better with KB/M and Monitor due to the inventory/UI (better viewed on monitor), hotkeys, and what not. The handful that aren't PC has controller too. Oh and mods. Almost all of those games you listed are better w/ mods. Monitor also feels more immersive.

It's not even close.

I just got my RAM in today so Im going to finish my 2080 TI build.

I used to be console only but I was bored one weekend a few years ago so I built a PC. At the time it was a GTX 970.

Since then, I have found it difficult to play on console because of the 30fps judder. I find myself having to use the smooth motion feature on my TV to minimize it.

Unless that RPG game is exclusive to consoles, I'll play all of my RPG games on PC. I don't have nothing against playing RPG games on consoles, I just prefer to play'em all on my PC.

Yes, I most definitely play RPGs on consoles. I play mostly JRPGs and WRPGs but have played the odd MMO on console as well. Everything I play is on console or handheld with the odd game on iPad.

I will play any game on any platform, and while some platforms are better suited for some types of games than others, the line dividing certain genres between PC and console has become increasingly blurred. It seems that real-time strategy games are pretty much the last genre that can be regarded as PC exclusive simply because there is no elegant way to design them to be playable with a typical controller.

PC. It has the best library of JRPGs, WPRGs, ARPGs, CRPGs and MMOs.

yea i play RPG on the console because I kinda prefer my controller and having to play around with my PC settings to make a game to work. When will people understand that like apple vs all other types of phone some people just prefer the apple. Now for MMOs I play thoses on the PC. Now with that said I do play RPGs on PC so it just depends on where RPG.

It really is horrible. I purposely capped my FPS in The Witcher 3 to 30 just to test it once and it was an absolute nightmare to actually play with.

I got my start on arcades followed by consoles. So, yes. I'm sure I played some RPGs on consoles at some point although I can't remember which ones. ;) Maybe Dragon..... Seemed liked a Zelda clone to me. Definitely the early Zelda games if they count.
