Do you ever buy badly reviewed games at the super budget price?

Just to see for yourself if it really is as bad as the reviews claim and also to see if you end up enjoying it?

I just picked up Haze for $4 bucks just because I want to see how bad it really is, considering it is the laughing stock of the PS3 exclusives this gen. I will also be picking up Duke Nukem Forever once it hits bargain bins just to see if it is really as bad as everyone claims.

I just bought Timeshift a couple weeks ago for five dollars. It was okay. If a game interests me I tend to buy it at some point, even if that point is over four years later for only a few bucks.

Occasionally. But they generally turn out to be worth the money, as opposed to the mediocre big budget games that you buy based on reviews that somehow skated by on hype.

I also picked up Halo Wars and Dark Void for $5 dollars each brand new at Best Buy a few weeks ago. Dark Void got terrible reviews, and I actually like it a lot. Halo Wars got average reviews, and I like that game a lot as well.

I always buy cheap badly rated games because them are the ones i usually end up liking. I nearly picked lair up today, it was on sale for $9 but i bought something else instead.

Usually as long as the game interests me in some way I buy it.

No, but ebay sells even amazing games at $4 or less if they're old enough, so if I ever et super bored and feel like upping my trophy count or whatever I might check out Terminator: Salvation for $1.

I'd buy Big Rigs just so I can do -1200MPH underground.

Infinite Undiscovery for $15. Loved the game, enjoyable 20 hours.

Dark Sector for $15. Really enjoyed that game. I had a LOT of fun with the Glaive. Was basically a poor man's Gears+poor man's Resident Evil with a sick-ass sci-fi weapon. I personally liked it.

The Last Rement for $15: Got a 5.3 from IGN, which made me wait. But then I watched a review from ZeitgeistGameReview on youtube and he convinced me to buy it, and damn did I love that game. Massive game. Worth every penny and then some.

MagnaCarta 2 for $20: F**king awesome.

Nothing wrong with that. I just got done beating Jericho on my 360 recently........it sucked. Jericho did have some good ideas but its so linear and short and just had bad gameplay. I bought the game for like 5 bucks shipped last year. Only thing i really lost was time.

Alll the time, sometimes you find hidden gems.

All those people bashing used sales don't know what they're talking about. Even if they say they only support their favourite dev's, they don't get it. With all the research you can ever do, with all the experience you've ever had, it can't always convince you to buy new and you will miss out on some overlooked experiences.

I'm actually really enjoying Haze :P

It was the first time I ever preordered anything so I still wasn't aware of all the hype mechanics. Boy did those games teach me a lesson.

Sometimes, yes. I recall seing the Nier review and thinkning it was one of those jrpgs that still has a soul.

Brink when it hits 20 dollars....so in about 2 months but i have a feeling it isnt as bad as reviewer saideboyishere

It is, total letdown IMO.

Sure. If I have a geniral intrest in the game but it doesint look worth 60 to me ill just wait. Even if it does get bad reviews. Since reviews are just opinoins. Im waitinf for Duke to hit 20 on amazon.

I usde to because some of the bad games in the Sonic franchise, but in the past year or so I usually have bought retail or digital games with a MC score of 76% or higher for my Wii.If I averagedall the games I currently have for Wii I would probably end up with a score in the 70's.

I bought Lost Planet 2 for splitscreen coop campaign and me and my friend agreed that it was one of the best splitscreen games we have ever played. Thats why I dont care about scores too much.

Also seeing how Dungeon Master 2, one of the best RPGs of all time, was poorly reviewed here on GS makes me lose my faith in reviewer score.

Depends on if the game looks fun or not.

Picked up Brink, Dungeon Seige and Red Faction Armageddon for less than half price each, online gamestore really do cut price's on game's so quick

Red Faction got good review's I think its great

but my biggest surprise is how much I'm enjoying Brink

Lair, which was not my kind of game but of high quality. The motion controls worked perfectly fine. Maybe it got patched cause I don't know what all the fuss was about. It is a current gen Rogue Squadron.
And Alpha Protocol which I forgot I had and barely touched.
