So SW, whether you're playing an FPS game, fighting game, RTS, or any game in general that tracks/record your progress. Do you care about it? Do you care about your K/D ratio, Wins/Losses or ultimately do you care about winning in a game?

Nothing I hate more than people who go on about their KDR. KDR means nothing. A high KDR doesn't mean someone's good, it could just mean they spam explosives every round.

My KDR in most games, is pretty bad, but that doesn't mean I'm bad, I just don't always play to win, or play to get the highest number of kills. In BC2, Some games I'll just fly people around all game, in the Blackhawk, getting little to no kills, myself.

If you mean every little detail and K/D and all then probably not so much. But I like to have a good score and such. Bad COmpany 2 on PC is not about K/D for me, its about being in first, and usually I am, or I am not far behind 8)

I care about my K/D and W/L ratio about as much as I do winning. If they're low, then that means I must be doing something wrong; that there's a definite patern that needs to be corrected. Losing at all means I'm doing something wrong, but I prefer to blame the odd loss on a random lag spike. :P

I like when I win in a fighting game, but I also enjoy the fact that I can learn from my losses.

Only in DOTA/LoL, a K/D/A ratio actually matters there.

No I dont because if I have a 2.0 k/d rushing another person who camps for their kills can have the same k/d

K/D means nothing nor do stats it shows no skill level at all and I just ignore any person who thinks its relevant

No not at all, even in WoW i dont care about personal achievments as long as i'm doing my part well in the raid and the guild is advancing.

So the real answer would be...

Do i care about my own stats: No

Do i care about my teams stats: Absolutely

I'd prefer it if stats were just lost all together. Don't get me wrong, I like having a good game and seeing how I did, but there's nothing more aggravating that seeing someone on your team just chilling out sniping, when it isn't doing the team any good. It's funny this thread popped up, because just the other day I'm playing Halo Reach--Multi Flag on Bloodgulch--and there's less than a minute to go and I have a jack@$$ on my team just sitting there trying to get kills with the sniper rifle. I pull up with the jeep and this guy refuses to get it with the time winding down.

So I think there needs to be a bigger stat punishment for losing. Like, if you lose, your kills for that game are nill. That would force people to try and win.

I don't care about the "skill" stats but I love stats in one player games, ya know silly ones like how much property damage caused, cars exploded, evaded police, etc. That's fun to read over :)

Not anymore. I used to be fairly competitive when I only played one or two games, but now I play so many games that getting really good at a couple is physically impossible.

Nope never cared.

TBH, I never cared about any online stats either. I just play games to have fun.

If you want to strech it though, only stats I only ever cared about was getting 100%+ completion in certain platform games back in the day and seeing if I could max out stats on RPG characters, but I'm assuming you were talking about rankings : p.

No, except for maybe Halo: Reach, because somehow I started off with a massively high k/d and now I feel under pressure to keep my standards high. :P The only statistic games should give you is win/loss. It would increase the quality of online by an incredible amount.

I like the idea of all games tracking total time played... and it is kind of neat seeing how many total bricks that have been mined in Minecraft... but stat-tracking for bragging rights? Lol.

I really wish I could see total time being played for each individual game. Seems only the Wii does this..

As for personal stats, they're nice. They're not super important, and it's not like I use them to brag, but it's nice to see numbers for various statistics.

I care about my Kill/Death rate in FPS. But that's pretty much about it. Not everybodies K/D means they are good though. They could just use explosives all the time and get lucky kills or like to camp a lot. I don't do any of that, so when I am doing good, I like that. Lately I have been totally owning in Team Fortress 2, but I think that has a lot to do with all the newbies getting on now that the game is free. Playing spy and having a K/D rate of 50/12 is easy to get anymore in TF2. I do not however care about trophies and crap like that.

I used to be VERY competitive in WoW regarding PvP and helping to advance my guild. After losing interest in the game, the only game I take "seriously" would be LoL and Quake Live (...lol) and potentially EVE Online in the near future.

In something like an open world game, I try to complete it 100%. In something like a fighting game, I play to have fun. (Because I suck at fighting games. Alot. Still like em.)

In Bad Company I judge skill by score per minute. Anyone can have a good K/D - just snipe. Only good players can have a high SPM.

Nope. I have a negative k/d in every multiplayer game I play. I don't care if I win or lose. I just care about whether or not I'm having fun. Also I'll never play a multiplayer game unless I have friends that will play with me. I don't care to play with random people.

Other than having a positive K/D ratio in a match, I don't really care all that much. And the only reason I care about K/D in a match in because I generally play TDM.

Single Player? Nope dont care.

Multiplayer? Yeah, more than I should. I have a really hard time if I'm not over .500 in my various statistics. I know it shouldnt matter but it bugs me. It really only comes into play with fighting games though since my KDR is almost always positive in shooters.

I go into a game telling myself that I don't or won't care about in-game stats, but when I go on a streak in Call of Duty where I have some insane 9.0 K/D ratio for a few games in a row, I start to think I'm good and start to care about my stats.

Not really...I mean, there's some days I'll do pretty good, and some days I do utterly horrible (like 25 deaths and zero kills .). Most of the time I play for fun anyway, so being first or last on the leaderboards doesn't really bother me :P.
