Do the PS3 and 360 Versions of Madden Deserve the Same Score?

Ok, we're a couple months in the new .5 incremental review system, and of course (as with all change) there has been grumblings about it. For me, the first test coming up is Madden.

With it already known that the 360 version is superior in some extent(I'm sorry people, it is) because of the 60 FPS, while the PS3 version runs at 30 FPS, I have to ask......Will these two games deserve the same score based on what we already know about them?

The intent of this thread is not to critique Madden per se....but instead to get a general critique of the reviewers/review system of Gamespot.

I played Madden 07 since launch day, and had no complaints about the graphics. Then I downloaded the NCaa 08 demo (60 fps mind you) and then when I went back to Madden 07 I thought I was playing a PS1 game!!!

Basically I don't think cows will see what the big deal is about the fps difference, but any lems who play on a friends PS3 (god knows why, but it could happen) they'll notice the stiffer and more lifeless gameplay.

The PS3 version runs like chunky soup,the cell and RSX can't keep upwith all the action.

This title shows the true potential of the cell, in chunky soup style.

well I wasn't meaning to be a braggart....I was just providing him insight onto where I was coming from by saying that it does make a difference in this years Madden is all.

GS is between two potential inequalties here. If they rate them the same, they're doing a disservice to the 360, which is the superior version. However, if they don't, and the difference is not worth .5 (it might be, but I couldn't say without playing both, thus the "potential" part), then GS will underrate a game or overrate the other, or both.

Between these, I'd prefer the second option. Why? Because they're doing a disservice to the game, not to the consumer. Basically, I think that exaggerating a small score difference is better than ignoring it.

I agree.. I think if they rate the games the same I will have a very hard time following the GS review system. What is the point of rating the games if not to show consumers the differences in between them.

Well something sucking would be an opinion. A game lacking a feature is a fact. Saying that Gears has crappy graphics is an opinion. Saying it has HDR is a fact. I think.

Well, to tell the truth, multiplats just plain and simple run better and look better on the 360. /no sarcasm.

And I won't even mention the fact that online play runs much better on the 360, I won't mention that.:D
