Sorry, but face facts here.......Ultima IV is simply put, one of the most influential games ever made, and the series is probably the most influential ever in gaming along with Mario Bros.

This isn't even gaming 101, its elementary..

"No one needs to know the story of Ultima to be a gamer, simple as that. It isn't a requirement"

And that's the difference between true gamers and casual gamer.

No, that's the difference between a neurotic jackass and a normal human being.

No, that's me saying something you don't like and you whining about it.

I can't argue with that. Other people being objectively wrong does upset me.

Like you? Who claims you can be ignorant of the history of gaming and still be a true gamer...whatever.

I'm trying to like this game but it's just way too old school for my liking. There is zero hand holding and way too much reading involved to actually know what the hell you're doing. I like the combat, puzzles, graphics, soundtrack and all that. But I at least need some kind of waypoint system to tell me where the hell I'm going or I will just run out of patience.

My god! They actually expect you to use your brain while playing--the horror! And no, you don't need a waypoint to tell you where to go constantly (one of the worst elements of modern RPGs). What you need to do is actually bother to read the dialogue and think logically.

Sorry, don't play games to read through endless amounts of text.

You play them to watch endless amounts of cutscenes?

My friends, looking at the steam top sellers list, it appears pc gamers are more interested in the widely panned "Elder Scrolls Online" sitting around about 200% the price, with day 1 launch dlc, micro-transactions and a monthly free on top of all this.

Incredibly disgraceful.

Odd I love Bioware, ND and Bethesda, and when they screw up I get pretty steamed. It takes something super to make me not like a dev like what SE, Capcom and 2K have done, I mean hell I just flat out refuse to buy anything made by 2k

Amazing. I wonder if consoles will even get an RPG this gen that remotely stacks up to this one in terms of content...

There will be good games on both consoles but when it comes to RPGs , PC is always the best choice . Most so called RPGs on consoles are action games with some RPG elements , nothing more . The only thing that comes close is Demon Souls but it lacks deep storyline , which makes it incomplete package , unlike games like D:OS , Witcher and other computer RPGs .

Wicher is on consoles, and Demon Souls is a dungeon crawler no story needed.

As for Divinity: Original Sin It's an old school game with old school system requirements Proof you don't need a gaming PC to play the best PC games.

Nice score, but still, best RPG of 2014 is between Dark Souls II and DA: Inquisition.

DA: Inquisition isn't even out yet, didn't anyone ever tell you not to count your eggs before they hatched.

By the looks of things DA: Inquisition isn't winning anything unless they're giving out GOTY awards for LGBT simulations.

Yeah I don't even consider Demon's Souls to be an RPG due to next to nothing for a story. I consider it a Hack N Slash and Golden Axe was better.

You currently don't need a PS4 at all to play its best game, since they are multiplats that are better on PC.

Yeah, like the upcoming Star Citizen,Elite: Dangerous,Unreal Tornament,Killing Floor 2,Blue Streak(the new Cliff Blezinsky Unreal 4 game),Fortnite(Epic games Unreal 4 next game alongside the new UT)among so many current and especially upcoming PC exclusives.

And as far as The Witcher goes, all of them are on the PC,the first one is and will always be exclusive, and for the other two you need two different consoles to play them, and if its anything like the port of TW2,again getting the lesser version of the game, like the vast majority of titles in the market to be fair.

I have to highly disagree on that, while the 2 playable characters are pretty amazing every other person you get in your party is just, to put it simple boring and I didn't care for any of them.

Everything else though I have to say Larian Studios did a pretty damn good job.

Yeah, one thing I will admit Bioware does do well is flesh out its secondary characters. Madora and Jahan do actually have pretty interesting stories, but you're not really exposed to their stories until you get to the areas that relate to them (Hunter's Edge and Phantom Forest) Prior to that, you just get weird dialogues from them that hint at their past. I do remember hearing that they intend to add more companions in a bug update once they get back from holiday.

After years of tutorials and tooltips, it's a raher daunting game, but it's incredibly likeable.

There is a tutorial btw. It's that dungeon to the right of the first battle you get into. Granted, the tutorial mainly covers the basics of the game.

Great score for a great game. Haven't played that much yet but so impressed.

Wish Bioware could take a leaf out of its book for roleplaying a party ......

Would be interesting to see what they can do by adding some new characters that have some personality, that would fix the one flaw I have with this game.

I meant daunting as in it has a lot of rather complex systems going for it, and you're not likely to understand them before you've actually used them extensively.

I did do the initial dungeon, but all of a sudden, I was in this HUGE city and noone was explicitly telling me what to do ;) I'm sure I'll get back in shape!

Tell me about it. Rage+Oath of Desecration+Power Stance+Flurry can pretty much one hit a lot of bosses.

Amazing. I wonder if consoles will even get an RPG this gen that remotely stacks up to this one in terms of content...

I would like any console users in here who are still interested to see these links:http://www.strategyinformer.com/news/22120/divinity-original-sin-makes-sense-on-consoles-dragon-commander-not-so-much

http://www.redbull.com/us/en/games/stories/1331638482677/divinity-original-sin-kickstarts-the-team-rpg

Original Sin makes sense on console for me, I think, if you do it split screen. Couch co-op would be great thats purely a financial aspect, we just need to develop it

"Hopefully the game [will be] successful enough for us to continue working on it and bring it to other platforms," he says. "We’d have to redo the entire UI but I think the game systems could easily be ported. Personally, I’d love to play it on one screen with two players and a controller.”

Seeing as how this is apparently their fastest selling title to date, I imagine we may be hearing news about a console version sometime in the future.
