Divinity Original Sin 2 on console, 1 year later, still inferior

One less AAA exclusive for beggar Race

The game was made for PC with its point and click interface. There's no doubt it's better on PC.

That's cool it was designed for PC originally, and then ported over to console....Xbox helped them fine tune the release for console via the Preview program with the help of a cool ingame character called Feedback Billy. PC should be the definitive edition but I think it should still be a very comparable quality experience on console as well.

Not a problem for me. I’m not interested in gaming on PC so I’m perfectly fine with getting the console version myself. Played the first game on the Xbox One and really enjoyed so I’m sure I’ll enjoy this one as well.

I disagree, like I said the PC version will be better, but by and large many aspects of the experience will be very comparable, writing, world design, character design, skill trees, dialogue , etc ...although I should say, I am not a big fan of this particular genre in the first place. I would like to give it more of a chance though, I have the 1st game but have not had the chance to play it all that much but I liked what I tried so far.

However I have a lot of experience with other types of PC games that originally started on PC, games like Diablo or Startcraft for example, and some genres are ported better to consoles than others, I have a feeling this genre is a little more difficult to properly port to consoles compared to a game like Diablo for example.

The only other noted item is around clunky controls and multiple steps. Not a significant issue because it is turn based combat.

I played split screen on PC with my wife, you have to use a controller for split screen. It's perfectly playable. But once I started playing my own game without the controller, going back to the controller kind of sucked.

The word exclusive is not mentioned at all until you posted. Arbitrary rule, due to losing to PC for a 4th gen in a row at this very site (Carlos, that's almost 20 years you've been losing to PC here!)

PC is currently winning metacritic with over 110+ more good/great titles than the 2nd next system. Furthermore, almost every single video game this gen is better experienced on PC.

In no way possible is PC not objectively first place here. There simply isn't a reality were this conclusion isn't the case.

Jesus, people acting like it's a huge statement when someone says "The game is good on console but better on PC". It's still good on console, folks. Relax.

I tried it via my Steam Link with Steam Controller, it was surprisingly good with a controller.

That said, it's a distant, distant, distant second to mouse and keyboard.

Looked at some reviews for this for playing it on PS4 on a tv like i have. The only thing putting me off is the fact that i won't be able to see what's going on.

My characters will be like ants on the screen and i'll have to end up sitting with my face an inch away from my 24 inch hi def tv..!!! (even in zoomed in mode)

@scatteh316: PC is just better. Its simply a fact. You can prefer console if you want, i understand, i grew up exclusively a console gamer until I built my PC last year. A preference is an opinion but factually, PC is superior to console in almost every measurable category. Sorry :P

Console is just better, it's simply a fact. I used to be a MASSIVE and diehard PC gamer a few years ago.

PC is not superior to console in every way at all, in fact there's very few area's where a PC is a better game machine then a console.

@scatteh316: I get to play more games, some even years before console gets them. I get to play at superior graphics and framerates with free and superior online, full mod support, my PC is faster than console and can download faster, can use whatever controller I want, im not tied to some corporate controlled digital store, I can customize my PC or upgrade whenever I want instead of having to buy an entirely new console every few years, I can use emulators to play whatever i want on older consoles, I can use a VPN to download stuff for free if i wanted to, i get games for cheaper and faster than console, I can use keyboard and mouse for shooters which is superior, and sorry but I can't game at 30fps anymore, it is literally borderline unplayable for me now. So please tell me how console is so much better than PC.

same is true for 7 Days to Die. Console version for that game as a serious afterthought

My console hardware get's fully utilised, my games don't miss out on features due to hardware and software fragmentation, my console hardware isn't held back by other hardware, my console isn't held back by a inefficient API, my console has dedicated developers pushing it, my console doesn't need graphics drivers to fix GPU performance and issues... I could go on....

In fact if I was to take out everything that's wrong about PC as a platform it would actually be a console.

What? Consoles have updates like every month. Do you think they don't put out drivers and fixes for stuff with those updates? You really are clueless if you believe that.

No..I'm a ex PC gamer who knows all to well about last minute driver releases for game fixes........ and some times trying multiple drivers to try and find one that works.

So far from clueless....... truthful is more accurate.
